During the Tour Of The King Valley we asked you guys whether you'd like to hear from some of the guys about their own bike, the resounding answer was yes.
It's funny how essentially bikes set ups that start out pretty similar at the beginning of the season, grow and change as riders add their own individual touches.
We should add, Jnr has paid for everything you see here with the money he earns from working in a bike shop. We obviously prefer him to run sponsors gear, but at the end of the day it is his hard earned cash that goes into this bike.
We hope you enjoy he run through and please to comment below with your thoughts on his build.

Thanks Angus! Nice bike mate, also, you need to change your jockey wheels, they are worn out. Cheers!

Thanks John! The Jockey's aren't actually worn, they were replaced recently. I think it was just the angle combined with a tiny bit of wax on them that gave that pointy look

Can you compare ride time of some stage on Specialissima and XR4 with the same power by the same rider? Stage can contain steep uphill, flat and downhill. Both bikes can have the same wheels and position of rider should be the same. I thing results can be interesting.

I think 11-28 with a compact crank is the best all around gearing. 50-11 is plenty fast and 34-28 to keep the cadence up on steeper stuff.

I raced my first season of NRS on compact chainrings, never felt like I needed a bigger gear except for one race at Wagga which has that false flat downhill sprint finish. Same at Eastern Creek in Sydney, would not want to be racing there on a compact. Apart from those two very specific scenarios, compact is better. Riding 53/11 now, I actually prefer the compact because you spend less time up the top of the cassette, and you don't need to drop into the small chainring as often.

53x39 11-23 on the winter bike and 53x39 11-25 on the race bike

Yes to 11-28. But I feel severely diminished in stature by my 50/34 chainrings. When you're old and decrepit and were never very strong to begin with, that's how you roll. How many chains does Angus run and how often are they changed? Does he run the teflon and molybdenum disulphide powder in the paraffin? I expected the seat to be even further back on such a small frame. Love the murdered out stem! Excellent VLOG. Thanks Angus Calder.

Hi Michael! I actually have quite the bank of chains at home (long story). Until recently I had two that I just rotated. I'm using the Molten Speed Wax and it works a treat. They say they last up to 350km but I find they're pretty good up to 500km or so if you get it right before they start getting too noisy and the wax wears out. This gets me around a week or so per chain so it's a re-wax every couple of weeks with 2 on rotation. Hope this helps!!

@@acalskates Danny Roberts-Clarke here's a link to more than you need to know about where paraffin wax is likely to come from and it's oil content. It seems like anything labeled as candle making wax would be a pretty good bet. s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/cjp-rbi-icis-compliance/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/Paraffin-Wax-Methodology.pdf One more thing for Angus, slow cooker, electric frypan or other melting pot? How long do you leave it in for? Do you let the chain get hot?

Small frame=short wheelbase + 38cm bars...slippery 4 sure but must be VERY twitchy. A pure race steed, just don’t try this at home!!

Chris you need a proof reader for your overlay text... junction has a C in it :) Seriously, your videos are so close to being pro level, the composition and editing and structure is so good, but spelling and grammar errors in the text detracts in a big way.
