the release order was (IIRC) Heavy, Scout, Soldier, Engineer, Sniper, Demoman, Spy, Medic and Pyro. if you watch them in order, you can tell the shorts become more complex in animation and switch from a simple interview to a more comedy sketch vibe. Heavy is on his own talking to the camera, Scout also talks to the camera but he's got an intro and two scenes. by the time we get to Sniper, we're out on the road, then inside his camper van, then atop a watchtower, etc...

the guys in these videos AREN'T heroes, they are just a bunch of maniacs hired as mercenaries by one of the two brothers who have an never ending conflict with each other

I'm somehow not surprised the Scout is Kit's favourite. The personalities line up perfectly.

The characters are mercenaries fighting over various things. They were hired to fight for land by two brothers who have been trying to get the land for a long time, even going so far as to enlist the Engineer and his family to build devices to keep them alive longer.

Fun lore bits for each class: Scout: God’s gift to women everywhere and stopped God from killing everyone Old Testament style. Soldier: if he dies he’ll come back stronger because he ate a bunch of “kill me come back stronger” pills from his old wizard roommate. Pyro: is capable enough to run a business and be so good at it he made his board of directors millionaires in months. Demo: is so drunk that blood sucking robots got drunk from a few drops of his blood. Heavy: has a bed for his gun, Sasha, and is only embarrassed that the bed is too small. Medic: got his skills from a deal with the devil and managed to outsmart the devil. Engineer: is skilled enough to repair immortality machines which his grandfather built. Sniper: his family moonshine is potent enough to knock out demoman in a single shot. Spy: loves scout but is too afraid to show it. Saxton bonus round: his security system is a machine that only lets you through if you can punch it with 15,000 kg (or 33,000 lbs) of force.

Uhm canonically, they're all mercenaries fighting to protect the interests of two rival companies who own gravel quarries.

This might be one of the most enjoyable "Meet The Team" reacts I've seen. Not only was the guy already familiar with the source material; he gave entertaining comments, explained bits and pieces here and there and kept the mood lighthearted and fun. The lass might take a bit more convincing 😄 All in all, amazing to see what emotional ties people can have to characters!

The meet the spy is literally the best of the meet the team because of how good the attention to detail and jokes are

I been playing TF2 for too many years, and man, the dude is making his explanations way too confusing for the lady... The most egregious being him trying to explain Pyro to her. Here's all you need to know; Pyro (and in fact a majority of the characters in this game) are not all there mentally. Pyro sees the world as all happy and stuff, and in reality he's seen as a monster. Normally, you see the game normally while playing as him, but there are items in game that make you see the happy version. That's Pyro's story.

11:45, to answer your question Kira. As the pyro you see the world the same way as the other characters, however there is an item that the player can wear to view the world from the pyro's perspective.

12:00 there is a cosmetic for pyro, the pyrovission goggles. Equipping it will make the player see through pyros eyes, thus making the map much more colourful and the characters screams turn into laughs. When the player dominates another using the pyrovission goggles it will say, Player became BFF with player.

The sandwich is an item that the heavy uses, after he takes a couple of bites of the sandwich he regenerates Health but you're stuck in a eating animation, you can give your stanwich to teammates and enemies, so be careful or you might accidentally give Health to the enemy

Fun fact: In meet the medic the medic uses the quick fix to übercharge the heavy (the quick fix is one of 4 medicguns that the medic is able to use wich all have different effects) an ubercharge from the quick fix onlx makes you heal your targets health 3x as fast as normal.But the ubercharge that is being shown in meet the medic is the ubercharge from the stock medigun wich grants you and your healingtarget invunurability for 8 seconds so valve used the wrong weapon in meet the medic. Yes i have spent over 2000 hours playing tf2 yes im a medic main and yes i have way too much free time

I absolutely live for the reactions of people who have no idea what's coming with Pyro lmfao. The horror and humour together is just excellent Also, even though it's probably the simplest of all the Meet The Team videos, there isn't a line I prefer more than "Some people think they can outsmart me... Maybe, maybe... I've yet to meet one that can outsmart bullet." An entire class summed up in one quote - I think the LazyPurple video you reacted to on Heavy perfectly demonstrates that enemy players that think they are outsmarting Heavy players are gonna be punished, omega hard. Finally, it really is hard to properly get across just how powerful Ubercharge is. I don't think there's any mechanic in any FPS game that comes close. Invulnerability, for multiple players at a time AND you can choose exactly which players to make invulnerable at the exact time you make each and every flash of ubercharge, is such an insanely powerful ability. In terms of influence on an individual game, I don't think there's any character that can come close to Medic in TF2.

If kit wants to show them as heros, you need to watch the Man vs Machine stuff that's come out

11:44 Well, I must say there is a way to get your hands on some of those magical goggles if you unlock them in a box. Then you equip it in your customization menu. Afterwards you'll see the world as Pyro does in the trailer. So it's possible.

You can enable pyrovision, either as an option in game or with pyrovision goggles, though most of the time it just changes "gibs" (bloody bits of bodies) to gears, springs, and confetti, though if you play on 2fort (a map in game) the whole map changes colors

Crash Maul did a set of SFM TF2 vids you guys might enjoy. Meet the Rabid Heavy Taming Engineer, Rise of the Epic Scout, and Fight for Sawmill. First two can be seen in either order, however, Fight for Sawmill needs to be seen last. I'm unsure if they made more as the ending of Sawmill looks like it might set up for further episodes or at least another rematch

There's actually an item that gives you "Pyro Vision" and I think any character can have it on, and it changes the visuals and some of the audio to where it's similar to Meet The Pyro, as well as pyro weapons to match - The official Meet The Pyro trailer with all those things mentioned came out around the same time.

Pyros vision upon his sourrounding is caused by the Glases of his Gasmask, manifactured my Man Co. , just like everything. Pyro himself doesn't know because of that what he is actually inflicting on others. (I think that was his Back story)

If I remember correctly (please correct me if I'm wrong, I never played the game) The story revolves around 2 brothers with rival companies that hire mercenaries to capture intel/documents on the other to run them out if business? Something like that I think, it's a weird one. Oh and scout is the spys son... I don't know if he's the blue scouts dad or the red ones. The soilder was played by rick may who sadly passed away, so as a tribute they added a statue of the soilder into the game.
