I noticed that - you would expect Olympic scores to be in the 14s and 15s, and a few 16s, but in this competition, they were averaging in the 13s and 14s - pretty low scoring!!
@fgdh2460
@fgdh2460 3 года назад
@@clarebell5926 If you know nothing then yes that's what you expect...16? where? In this quad it's not even possible...floor and BB the judges are harsh asf...
@clarebell5926
@clarebell5926 3 года назад
@@fgdh2460 I’m not talking about our GB quad - I’m talking in general. What do you mean ‘if I know nothing’? I have watched plenty of gymnastics over the years, so I’m quite aware how it all works! I’ve seen a few gymnasts score in the 16s on the apparatus : Beth Tweddle on the bars, Shawn Johnson and Nastia Liukin on the beam! 16s is possible. But yes - I found these Olympic gymnastic scores a bit on the low side this year!
@emmajenkins984
@emmajenkins984 3 года назад
@@clarebell5926 16s may have been possible in previous quads, but this quad's code of points downgraded everything. When you see a 14 you're looking at scores that would have been 15s or thereabouts in the previous quad. 15s in this quad are EXCEPTIONAL. Scores are calculated by adding the execution (E) score, which is out of 10, to the difficulty score, which is technically open-ended but this quad is generally maxing out in the low 6s. So for most events 16s are an impossibility because no one's execution is *perfect*. NOBODY has scored a 16 this quad, and some of the most capable gymnasts in history are competing at the moment. Fg Dh is right, if a bit rude.
@clarebell5926
@clarebell5926 3 года назад
@@emmajenkins984 Thank you for explaining the scoring (meant genuinely, not sarcastically). That has given me some insight. All I was pointing out though is I have seen higher scores in previous competitions, and I’ve been a few 16s, and a number of 15s, although I’d say in the 14s was the average! It just seemed quite low scores in these Olympics! Still, I’m proud our girls came third over all! I think if Romania were competing though, we might not have!

I'm worried about the Tokyo Olympics. The WHO informed the athletes of each country that when the athletes returned home after the Olympics, they should take a precise examination of the radioactive cesium test of Fukushima ingredients and the physical condition caused by the heat of the heat.,In particular, the players who swam in Tokyo Bay dung water were sure to be tested. Meanwhile, Bollomberger said it would consider charging the Japanese government for damages in cooperation with the IOC if there is a problem with the health of athletes after the Olympics.

GB should have been Silver Medallists. No athlete competing in the Olympics should be allowed to withdraw from the team matches, without a Certified Medical assessment. This alibi using the mental health card without any prior disclosed written attestation that an athlete is mentally and physically able to compete in the entirety of the games, should never be allowed to happen. If a team member does not continue /withdraws, for any reason other than a game-related injury, from a team competition, his scores should be automatic Zero for the rest of his/her remaining games. NEVER should any athlete participating in the Olympic games be allowed to withdraw because her lucklaster performance scores will drag the team score down. There should be a provision in the agreement to avoid this kind of stunt. GB are rightful winners of the Silver Medal. They have been cheated.
@ronaanderson4633
@ronaanderson4633 3 года назад
What crap. The rest of the USA team stepped up and deserved the silver. Biles has every right to pull out as if she continued it would be dangerous in risking serious injury. The rest of the team had to perform each apparatus as out the 4 they pick three for each, so them stepping into routines they weren’t expecting to do and still medalling is remarkable.
@jennyz9429
@jennyz9429 3 года назад
What now? There are plenty of teams that only use one particular gymnast on one or two events. Teams choose to put up their 3 highest potential scorers on each apparatus. The USA did that. Teams change planned line up based on various things. It's not unusual.
@laurengracehook2617
@laurengracehook2617 3 года назад
No, there are 4 people on a team for a reason. They share 3 the 3 runs on the apparatus. Coming from a Brit, Simone Biles and the USA team did themselves proud and have shown from their decisions that they are stronger than ever. Don't speak ignorantly a topic you don't understand if you're not going to say anything nice at all. We aren't aware of the danger and difficult mindset that Simone is dealing with right now so let's not spread a false story.
