Mizzou always does early Spring Game since Coach Drinkwitz arrived. He said he likes them to have the game before Spring Break every year because on Spring Break college kids like to party and he don't want them to come back and have to sweat all that out and get back in football shape right before Spring Game. Get it over early then use all Summer to get in perfect football shape for Fall camp
I still think it should be allowed to play another team outside of your conference during a spring game. Like a preseason game. Or maybe like a high school jamboree style where 4 teams play on either side of a field.

The question I have is who is going to replace Harrison Mevis. That kick last year in the K-State game was THE GREATEST clutch kick in program history. Who is going to step up and replace this guy the greatest place kicker in program history. Certainly better than Greg Hill that's for sure.
Its a spring practice game, not an actual game. Just lets coaches see who is learning the system well. And see who has potential to fight for a starting spot. And most spring games let the fans meet the players after. Why risk injury for a family fun event. And basically practice?
