Not just the wages, i doubt U.S even possess the knowledgebase and infrastructure to build and tool the battery factories in a reasonable timeframe to begin with. Americans just don't know how much they are lagging behind China, while happily sitting on their asses over-politicizing and SJW-ing everything. Then they wonder why the jobs aren't coming.

That is not the case at all. China has been hiring Engineers from all over the world, primarily from the U.S. to design their automation and factories. The U.S.A's largest export is military and commercial aircraft. If want to see some infrastructure and knowledge-base; watch a video on aircraft manufacturing. Ask yourself this question, have you ever driven a Chinese made automobile?
