Continuing the build of my first Defender. Based on a more budget oriented Boom Racing chassis and the TRC Body shell focused on realism, this is not going to be a rock basher but will be a scale driver with all the scale bells and whistles.

From what I've been told with d90s is always put 80mm shocks on short wheelbase trucks as this is going to greatly improve the control of the truck it is going to make it just as capable but it is going to be less prone to rolling because you're actually reducing the center of gravity

Unfortunately the reality is thst no matter what we do, with a heavy body shell and the short wheel base chassis.... This is not a crawler thst will have significant crawling capabilities. But for scale driving, its just perfect.

Hello, great build series. subbed. I recently bought one exactly like yours. I was curious. What brand of paint did you use for the clear-coat, and also how did you polish it? Thanks

Thanks so much for the comments, for the clear coat I use Tamiya clear coat. As for polishing, first do wet sanding using 1500 grit sand paper between each coat of paint. and then for the clear coat I do 3 to 4 coats (not too thick), after which you can just use Tamiya rubbing compound or even real car polish scratch remover. This part is where you will make the coat very smooth - take your time as it takes a lot of rubbing but dont overdo the rubbing to the point the clear coat is gone. Hope this helps and best of luck with the build. Please do shim the axles very carefully as they will destroy themselves otherwise.
