TorontoTokyo earned his "ez game" right. All 5 games were absolutely fantastic. Their mentality is really strong, playing 8 games and beating both Secret and LGD, they even beat the strongest tiny lycan combo.

Here’s my analysis of why it made sense from LGD’s point of view to not ban Magnus. TLDR is that LGD did not need to ban Magnus, but TS made a gambit to allow LGD take its Tiny-Lycan combination so that it could get Magnus, and LGD accepted the gambit as it was confident in their Tiny-Lycan combination. 1. The ban and pick orders are very important as it allowed LGD to have first pick while having confidence in what TS would have banned with their second ban, which also meant that LGD did not need to ban Magnus. a. In the first ban phase, it was LGD-TS-LGD-TS. And in the first pick phase, it was LGD-TS-TS-LGD. b. LGD had already showed in game 4 that it could use Magnus well, so it knew that TS knew that LGD could first pick it to deny TS from picking it. That in turn meant two things: (i) LGD did not need to ban Magnus with either ban picks, and (ii) TS would have to ban Magnus or Tiny with their second ban pick. c. So far, LGD actually got TS cornered. That’s because TS would have to either ban Tiny and let LGD get Magnus, or ban Magnus and let LGD get Tiny. Because LGD’s Tiny (+Lycian) was so feared, it was more likely that TS would ban Tiny and let LGD get Magnus. So that’s a double win for LGD - it did not have to use a ban on Magnus, while LGD had the credible threat of taking away TS’ best hero. 2. TS made a gambit in allowing LGD get their Tiny- Lycan combination, so that it could get Magnus for itself. a. By banning Undying using their second ban, TS effectively told LGD that it would be taking Magnus. Hence, LGD was left with a choice between Magnus and Tiny as its first pick. b. The crux here is that LGD had confidence in their Tiny-Lycan combination, and thus went with it. (Personally, I wouldn’t call it a bait. LGD fully knew what it was signing up for, and had confidence in their own strategy. This is legitimate in my opinion, given how good it was against Team Secret.) c. Remember the pick order - LGD-TS-TS-LGD - and see how LGD knew it could definitely pull off a Tiny-Lycan even without two picks in a row. LGD knew that TS will pick offlane Magnus since it had already banned Undying to enable a Magnus pick. And because it isn’t a flex pick for TS, TS definitely would not have picked Lycan with its second pick, since Lycan had been ran as an offlaner the whole tournament.

TS respected the wukong all 5 games, and LGD just didn't show the same respect to Collapse's magnus.

This win is gonna inspire many player who are grinding it out rn. They can hope to lift the aegis someday beating veterans along the way. Amazing game and amazing series.

Happy for Silent, he invented the Wisp+CK back in the day when he was a player for Team Empire and now as a coach he became a TI Champ. Team Spirit just raised the bar a bit higher, Yatoro is the best carry ever, so many heroes and always so good but the whole team just has this amazing movement and understanding of the game they knew where their heroes should be and their vision control is the best.

I haven't touched the game for 3 years now because I experienced more lows than highs unfortunately. However I always watch the ti's and it's a pleasure to watch them and chear with your favourite team and I cheared for Spirit. Well played to all of them 🙏👍

I think LGDs biggest mistake was picking tiny after seeing TS destroy every tiny thrown at them. Secret picked same strat previous game and failed. Maybe they underestimated TS/Secret or overconfidence on LGDs part. For me, Sumail’s tiny was the strongest tiny and it still failed against them.

Of all the teams that would bring back the Aegis to CIS who would have thought Team Spirit would be the one to do it, after a decade it comes back to the region which first won it. New players winning is a great thing for this scene, even as an OG fan if they did win TI again I would just feel meh the pro scene is just the same, but now we have new people coming into the scene, means new blood is coming into the game. Out of 10 kids nowdays even if we get 1 to stick to Dota 2 it would be great boost for the game. I am not playing Dota 2 anymore does not mean that I would like to see the game die right before my eyes. Them winning is a great thing for all of us.

The first time I saw Yatoro play was about a year ago when he played morphling. I was absolutely stunned by his carry abilities, decision and game sense. Glad that he won TI.

Miposhka with amazing warding and captaining, Mira with great spellcasting, Collapse having insanely clutch plays on moment making heroes, TORONTOTOKYO has an amazing ability of creating space in teamfights and is not afraid of going in first to let others do their job, Yataro great map sense/hero pool and ability to farm. Also happy for Silent, guys been an OG on the CIS region for a while now with 2 ti appearances himself.

Ti9 : Lost from UB final from same team then eliminated in LB final by bottom 7 group stage team Ti10 : Come out as a favourite to win again but Lost again to underdog who's 4 of them is experienced their very 1st ti. Everytime it's always so close, yet so far......

This team spirit kind of reminding me of VP of old when Solo was there. very strategic plays throughout the series it's just that this team is not tilted like VP's

Never gonna lie yatoro as carry really caught my eye in pubs he's a very good carry i wonder if he will win t. I because i didn't know what hes teammates playing style are... But as we can see now they are t. I 10 champions im very happy for them and for myself for seeing the potential of other person atleast i know who are the best :) peace!!!

This is quite possibly the most unexpected TI win ever. Even OG in 2018 had 3 players who were all seasoned and won multiple majors together, even if two of the others were nobodies at least they still had a foundation that proved itself strong. But this? All of Spirit's cores didn't even start playing Dota professionally until 2020. A year ago nobody had any idea who tf Torontotokyo or Yatoro or Collapse were outside the CIS region. Torontotokyo said just 2 years ago he dreamed of being in TI as a member of the audience. And compared to OG, who only faced 3 teams total (VGJS, EG and LGD twice), this team had to face seven, two of which (LGD and VP) are teams they have never before managed to beat, period (They even lost 2-0 to LGD in groups).

Team Spirit played well overall especially in game 5 where they managed to avoid every single ganks on their TS cores. Also, LGD misplayed their timings especially the teamfight at tier 2 tower bot lane at around 19mins in the game, they gave a way so much networth in that fight.

If you see at game 3, even TS is outplayed, TS still able to make a dangerous move / skewer back to mountain, that able to turn the table around a bit. Even under total pressure TS able to almost execute a counter attack plan. TS are really outplayed LGD this time lol GG

After Secret dumpstered Spirit in g1 of their lower bracket series, I never imagined Spirit would dumpster Secret, let alone the invincible-seeming LGD.

Congratulations to Team Spirit. You guys are rock because: 1. The first upper bracket team to be sent down in lower bracket by IG. Instead, Team Spirit thrashed IG back to the fucking airport. 2. Team Spirit had the youngest carry player ever yet THE FIRST PLAYER IN DOTA 2 HISTORY to gained rampage triple times! Absolutely fantastic. 3. This is the 2nd win for Eastern Europe since a decade ago when Navi brought the TI's Aegis Shield back for Eastern Europe. It was like freaking 10 years ago ever since then! 4. Team Spirit went through for painstaking challenge by eliminated such strong team like OG, IG, SECRET & VP moreover. Its likea stepping-stone for Team Spirit to move further than yesterday.
