The “rival” character went undefeated. The main female protagonist didn’t lose her final duel. I wasn’t sure about Sevens when they first announced it, but in terms of storytelling the broke a lot of the franchise’s norms.
I honestly think the Nail vs Gakuto was good. People complain how making it a Draw ruins Nail's character, but I disagree. It just means that Gakuto has developed and grown strong enough to be able to Draw with a Maximum Duelist. Not to mention that this series exists to SHATTERS every single norms in the franchise. Also it was only a draw by pure luck on Gakuto's end. Nail was in control of the entire duel until the end.
And sometimes, dumb luck wins/draws happens. I remember I won against Phantom Knight Danger! via Blazing Mirror Force. My opponent had literally blown up my entire field aside from my Trickstar Narkiss and that trap card. Narkiss depleted his life points to the point where he lost to Blazing and I didn’t. I was extremely lucky.
No one expected nothing of gakuto in and out of the show, and yet he managed to get a draw, it reminded me of joey vs marik, but with a better conclusion this time
This duel was the best of all the series so far. Fate of the world wasn’t on the line. No eye sight or eternal souls being at risk. Just two friends/rivals going all out. This duel is what the Yugioh series should have always been. Only Yuma v Kite R2 and a couple of others even come close to this duel.
@@JunkoEnoshima. If you consider melodramatic edge-lord crap to be plot, then you do you. Some of us don’t need life or death stakes to enjoy a children’s card game.
@@JunkoEnoshima. If stakes are all you care about then I think you are missing the point of yugioh/dueling which is to have fun. Also fate of the world is by nature flawed as stakes since it isn't something people can usually comprehend, which is why most shows add (if you haven't guessed it) personal stakes with it as well. All sevens did is just removed the fate of the world bs and simply used just the personal ones.
There have been duels just like this before that have been very enjoyable. Judai vs Ryo round 2 (my personal favourite), Yusei vs Jack round 4, Yuma vs Kaito round 2. Duels don't have to be life/death or oozing with plot to be good.
After this season, I want two things to happen. 1. Luke to lose. Right now he has the invincible winrate of Yusei and Playmaker, and for a character with an ego like his he needs to be knocked down a peg after reaching the top. 2. Actually high stakes and good antagonists. This is the third time that Rush Dueling has been on the line now, it's lost its fear factor. And the new teased antagonists aren't exactly threatening, I mean, one of them is an animal mascot. Something actually intimidating and serious would really push SEVENS up alongside the other spin-offs in my opinion.
I honestly think that Rook may get some insane character development from this win since he has now achieved his dream and has to ask the question "What now?" Also He will probably get his first loss in the next 2 arcs because of that development.
Honestly as much as I love this duel I got a few bones to pick with it all I can really say is that this was very very unjustified to do Yuga's team thattttttt dirty and not give them a single win (especially considering besides Luke Yuga's team was practically filled with better duelists not to discredit Romin or Gakuto at all), I feel like the ending result of this all was very unjustified especially Roa and Yuga's duels I am an adamant lover of Romin and definitely believe her defeating Roa is a poetic in a way yet Roa deserved the win jsut as much as her especially considering how much the Sevens community trashes on him alot of the time, still the duel was one of the best in Sevens from both sides Nail vs Gakuto I'm just confused..... if the ending result was for Luke's team to win you could have at least given Nail the win here and what Gakuto did was just so out of left field... Yuga vs Luke tho, say what you want about Luke, this win was very unjustified especially considering what Luke did in Sevens, one loss on his record wouldn't be so bad..... and once again if you wanted Luke to win that much you could have at least given Nail or Roa the win to their duels... still this is one of my fave duels in terms of all 3 of the battles especially Roa vs Romin but the finally product of the results of this were just very unjustified and unfair to Team YugaNail with an R no matter how you look at this tbh
Kaito vs Yuma round 1 was a DNF but it completely obvious it was Kaito's win. Round 2 was actually a draw and then round 3 was Kaito's win. So yeah, Rook is the first rival to so. Well done to him
It's ironic I spent most of the series hating Yuga then he finally started become a decent Character Then we got this 3v3 duel and Yuga had a temper tantrum when he lost and immediately set right back to what I thought of him from the gecko a terrible lead protagonist that makes Yuya tolerable with his spamming of the same plan every duel at least Rook oblitered his precious sevens road magician you don't fight a dragon and win especially with a Spellcaster
@@sasir2013 maybe but they've gotten too predictable as of late whilst Dragons have endless possibilities literally it's gotten to the point I know exactly what my Opponent has face down or plans to do If they summon berry, lemon, chocolate or apple magician girl then you got a dick head draw staller setting up to play Quintent magician so that they can finish you in 1 attack because they have no real sense of strategy other then copying other assholes If they play magicians rod and use it to add dark magical circle to their hand then that means their face downs are bound to be some of the following Magicians navigation Magic cylinder Dark renewal And or eternal soul depending on the game the decks being used on Meanwhile with decks like Revolvers Rokket dragons I've not only come up with ways to summon topologic bomber dragon and Borreguard dragon within my first 2 turns to take advantage of their abilities But also set up an extra link with then through Borreload, Borresword and topologic Gumblar dragon As well as end with duel by using Fusion Ritual Synchro XYZ Pendulum And link summoning all on the same turn by the end of it you'll have A pendulum scale set up (preferably one being a scale 0) Extra monster zone: Borrelend dragon Main monster zones: Borreload furious dragon The new Borreload ritual monster that's coming out (though any dragon ritual monster will also work) Borreload savage dragon Borreload eXcharge dragon Spell and trap zones + field spell zone: Boot sector launch Red-eyes black dragon sword Borreload dragon (both equipped to savage dragon) Declaration of rebirth (rebirth judgement as the anime calls it this is on edopro though the card is actually getting printed finally) And DNA surgery set to dragon Other support cards you'll need are: Rainbow life Power wall Anime effect card of sanctity Soul charge (and a card that can bypass it's no attacking that turn ability) Claw of hermos to play Red-eyes black dragon sword A card that'll return banished cards to the grave And the skill burning draw Setup: Use card of sanctity so that both players draw until they have 6 cards in their hand Use soul charge to bring back all 5 link 4's that were used to pull the extra link and use them all for borrelend dragon (use rainbow life if you don't have 5000+ life points) Set the pendulum scale to pendulum summon magnarokket, metalrokket and anesthrokket dragon Use boot sector launch to special summon 2 more rollers from your hand after using burning draw Play rapid trigger to use the 2 new Rokket dragons to play Borreload furious dragon Overlay metal and magna to play Borreload eXcharge dragon Ritual summon your ritual monster Summon Rokket synchron and use it's ability to play a lv5+ from your grave eg speedburst dragon and tune them with anesthrokket for Borreload savage dragon and use it's ability to equip Borreload dragon to it Use claw of hermos to play black dragon sword and equip it to savage dragon and use (if needed) the return banished cards to the grave card and DNA surgery and declaration of rebirth to turn all monsters on the field and grave into dragons powering up savage dragon greatly as it now gains 1000 more attack + 500 more for every dragon on the field and grave 😂

I missed your AmVs bro. Although after that Rook duel Im done with this anime. They are making a mockery of the main character and villains. While making wonder Romin and op Rook look unbeatable. What a joke
In what way is this show doing either of those Roa's loss was built up to throughout the entire arc as we saw him push away his friends Neil was in complete control of that duel and Gakuto only made it a draw by sheer luck Finally Yuga loses all the time because dueling isn't his only role in the story while dueling is Rook's whole thing so Rook winning is only logical for both of their characters.
@@cblazerc romin would have been fine had she not beaten Yuga in the same arc. So youre admitting Roa isnt a serious character in terms of dueling The shows been a mess and made literally all the characters apart from roa and romin look like a joke
Is it just me or did anyone else hate Yuga's little tantrum when he lost. It just felt out of place and doesn't suit with his character. In my opinion if was really a stupid decision to have him do that.
I didn't see that part. What was it like did it last for the entire rest of the episode or did he snap out of it before the end? Honestly, I don't see a problem with an initial freak out in the heat of the moment, but if they don't show him get over it, yeah I think that'd be a poor showing character wise.
Bullshit bullshit this makes yuga as the worst Yu-Gi-Oh protagonist ever seriously Luke becoming the king of cards really it’s like you’re having Kaiba or Chaz becoming the king of cards Series basically ruins Yu-Gi-Oh and so many levels
Why all he did is being an even more unpredictable and unique protag than ever before with him having regular losses to keep us on the edges of are seats and also making dueling not the only skill he has on top of it.
Ah yes, worse protagonist ever... because what's his competition? Dm where they couldn't even decide who was the main protagonist, GX and ZEXAL who actually had really well written protagonists but it took a while to get there, 5ds and Vrains where the main protagonists just *could not lose, even once* and hardly ever showed any form of vulnerability and Arc-V where the protagonist could not win a *single* duel by himself without relying on damn action cards and tried to force people to be happy *in the middle of an interdimensial war where people's families have been essentially killed.* because losing 5 duels in the first season instantly makes them a bad protagonist...
