This a blood bath nationwide...and it's only the beginning. The union is complacent, and I'd even go as far as say they are helping.

UPS has been a DUMPSTER FIRE since around 2009! Everytime I would buy something from some company such as Sharper Image,I would get a sticker on my residence door that they could not deliver the package to my residence, and I would have to either reschedule or pick up the package at their hub. In latter years,I would have the package delivered to the local UPS store to avoid the bullshiit of dealing with the hub. This game got UPS’s ass in a sling. This would have happened three years ago,but COVID delayed these layoffs because demand and deliveries skyrocketed!! UNTIL 2022,then the floor fell out!!

They hire all of us in November and say we would get overtime and all these hours then peak season comes and we are crazy busy and only seniority people get to work Saturdays and if you get Saturdays time and half they wont give you but 1 sunday at double time only 4 hours.I heard ups lost alot of shipping to the talks of a strike so people went elsewhere like Fedex is booming rite now i hear.

lol what did you think was going to happen when you force a contract on someone and their shareholders? they are going to quietly get some get back by closing down some places and getting rid of some workers when they were basically forced to make those concessions the writing was on the wall I live in Cincinnati the same thing happened in a meatpacking company called Kahn's that Sara Lee bought, but one of my best friends a guy named Pete work there and he was ecstatic about this new Union contract that they got that they basically extorted Sara Lee for. Sara Lee had the last laugh a few months later it was announced that they were closing down the whole operation and moving everybody lost their job like everybody. it ended up hurting Cincinnati a little bit and it was actually like kind of a historic location they couldn't figure out what to do with the spot it was vacant for years they tore the original plant down and now rhinegeist brewery is there. anyway I know that there was a point in American history where unions helped but you think that you can really bully corporate America in this day and age they'll agree to your demands and then quietly when no one's looking they are going to pull the rug from under you to them it's just doing business they don't care about your family they don't care about your children and it's not their job to care we look at it differently because we are workers we feel like we are really part of the machine which we are part of the machine but we feel like we're more important than what we really are and every now and then they have to show us that we're not and they do you forget that they're in the business to make money they're not in business to give you anything. I'll go one better for you the UAW not management is what destroys the auto industry The salaries or rather The wages that are forced from the company by the UAW is ridiculous a lot of the work that people do in the auto industry is really unskilled labor The biggest talent you have in working on an assembly line is the ability to stand there all day it's really bad on your back it's bad on your feet but you're doing a repetitive thing all day every day it takes more endurance than it does brain power and I know that a lot of people are going to be butt hurt for me saying that but come on some people are getting 40 $50 an hour people are making well over $100,000 a year with more bonuses they want profit sharing they want all of this stuff and they're doing a job that actually a 14 or 15 year old could do and probably do it better I'm not knocking someone for wanting to make money The thing that I knock is it's not sustainable that is to me what has the auto industry all screwed up but no one wants to talk about that. and no shape form or fashion should workers have any say so in the running of a business Don't get me wrong I believe that management should be fair they should never mistreat their labor but wow the things that people ask for or demand is ridiculous Don't get me wrong I would love to be making that $60 an hour $50 an hour but I would not be making demands but that is the problem with things in this country now you get a mob of people together and it becomes just that a mob mob justice is not justice it's a mob and we should not govern the country from a mob mentality and we shouldn't be running companies or rather we should not be letting the unions dictate what goes on because the company is going to have the last laugh and there are managers and boardroom people who I am very sure crack up when these deals are made and some people will benefit but a whole lot of people are going to lose their jobs they're going to have to downsize their homes their children are going to end up going to crappy schools because it's like you take the big payout which is not a big payout you fight for a bigger wage bigger bonuses only to have it snatched from under you you end up losing that $300,000 house you end up losing those nice ass cars and your children end up going back to crappy schools in the end

Just so long as you like being inefficient and charging you more for products you get as UPS is involved in a lot of them. Remember customers pay the salaries NOT STOCKHOLDERS. Greedy union are the cancer of America.
