The P Brandy is definitely there along with Faith/Kelly Price/Mary, Chaka, Dave Hollister, and Missy. It becomes interchangeable at times because there are a few other singers whose BG vocals I love just as much as the aforementioned.
@@maverickstyles9126 you literally listed some of my favorites!!!! Dave Hollister!!! He had some of the COLDEST male background singers back in the day.. ex "cant stay"... whew.... he's my favorite male singer, but....Kelly Price is my favorite singer of ALL TIME!!! I know you gotta be a music connoisseur when you said Missy!!! I LOVE the sound that she creates when she sings background vocals..absolutely love it. She creates a very signature sound that you can literally pinpoint when you hear it!!! Its crazy how you listed my literal favorites....lol
The P Lol Great minds listen to good music alike, and yes Kelly was probably one of the last real powerhouses in R&B. Yeah people sleep on Missy’s BG. Even when she was with Sista and songs that she wrote/produced for ie Monica “So Gone”, you can still hear her signature woos. Since you said some artist who are yours if I missed any?
@@maverickstyles9126 man, you literally listed MY list . Bg vocals wise Brandy and Faith are my top!!! They are my #1, I refuse to choose. Ginuwine also had some BADD bg singers back in the day. I'll never forget watching a live performance and hearing his guys sing behind him live. Dave Hollister was singing live at the same concert. I was absolutely blown away by the background. It was at that moment that I became in love with harmonies and arrangements. It's crazy how you dont really hear bg vocals in today's music or see alot of bg vocalist at performances...and Monica's After the Storm Album.... Missy stuck her foot in it!!! You can hear her influence throughout it especially in So Gone and Knock Knock.
Okay Faithfuls, who STILL gets their ENTIRE life when the background vocals come in with “Oo-Oo-Oo...Oo-Oo Tears Away” at 3:48? WOW! #GreatFaithEvansMoments
Back then I used to buy every single movie soundtrack that featured a Faith Evans song (And there was a lot of them). She was the movie soundtrack queen!
@Christina Don't give up, Lil Sister. Just stay patient & vigilant. Focus on whom & what you want & I promise, Love WILL find you. You'll know when "The 1" comes, because it'll just feel right, natural, & it'll flow so easily #SendinPositiveVibesUrWay 🙏🏿💜
@@La-Toya0488 , thank you. Two years later I am still single, had drama with my last son father but that's done and over with for me.I really appreciate ya encouragement. Thank you very much. Lacquer, I am 40 yrs old, with three kids, single struggling Mama, and thru it all still trusting God that all things are working together for my good. The good and bad that I have been thru. "Amen". 💜
@@La-Toya0488, thank you!! I need people like y'all in my life to stay connected so u can send me a message and I can add u on facebook or you can message me from time to time. God people in our lives for a reason.🌺
The part @ 0:39 when she says " take my hand, follow me, I've got everything you need" is reminiscent of when she sang " take me boy, by my hand, let me make you understand..." on Mary J. Blige's "You Gotta Believe". I LOVE me sum Faith!!!
im a huge Faith fan..this was in my top 5 joints made by her...Chucky Thompson was the man in the 90s with the bad boy "Hitmen" production team....real rnb
This one of the prettiest songs by Faith Evans. Why did people sleep on this? Oh yeah I know why, the industry does not appreciate real singers and there are no more Berry Gordys in the industry anymore.
Bryan Michael Cox on IG played this in the #LoveZone The #LoveZone is a late night R&B set that Bryan does a couple nights a week. I was able to discover this gem because of him.
Well written song, well engineered song and well performed. I mean "Faith" how could one ever go wrong. She has that songwriting and performing quality that builds throughout the song. Then on top of that she'll take you out with a booming chorus. In my opinion, she always hits a homerun. Though some selections I've heard I didn't always fancy, she always sounded good on wax and in person. She has a true anointing.
Iconic Faith Evans track right here. Banger! Lush background vocal harmony. Powerful lead vocals. Minimalist Chucky Thompson production allows the vocals to shine.
This movie came out about the time of my freshman year in college, and my dormmates would bump this hard and loud!!!! Thanks for bringing back good memories!!!!!
This song was a hella underrated classic then and STILL IS TODAY. It's crazy how this song has so much relevancy TODAY STILL, and how so many can STILL, relate to it TODAY.
Faye, you never sing this song live. The things were you doin' near the middle end.....come on baby! This whole soundtrack knocked. Hopefully you'll sing this live sometimes. It should've been on that second album for sure. You sound so pretty.
I absolutely love this song. I’m about to get a divorce and my heart is breaking. However, I know that God will send me someone who will wipe my tears away.
Her only knock was coming out in an era of Mary J who was more popular. Faith definitely was one of the most talented of her era. She still can hoop the roof off of any house! I would've loved for Stevie J to do more stuff with her back then....
I think she had an excellent career. Both of them stayed in their lane and did their own thing. That's what I miss about the 90's, if you had talent their was room for you.
seen the movie on Netflix, and when this song came on I instantly cried. This song currently represents my love life. I'll look back a few months later, and be fine. Thanks for the upload, good job Faye!
I just finished watching Hav Plenty. I haven't heard this song in ages. It's always been one of my favorites by Faith. I'm grateful for the internet. I'll never lose it again!!
This is my favorite movie of all time. So many classic scenes and very witty and well acted. I still remember the first time I rented it from Blockbuster (Didn't get to see it in the theater). I was like 14 or 15. I would watch the whole movie thru and then rewind it and stop it after like 2 mins and watch it from wherever it was till the end again, lol. I did that like 4 or 5 times in a row.
