Great song!! Please react to Loverboy "Working for the Weekend" "Turn me Loose" " The Kid is Hot tonight". The videos are awesome 80's style & the band is very receptive & responsive. Thanks Jamal!!
Totally underrated. I had a huge crush on Orzabal. Still do! I saw them in 2010. You would think you'd put on the CD. Curts bass and Rolands guitar abilities are beyond. People mostly notice the voices. Professional all the way. Just the best. And STILL ROCKING!!! Go boys.
Been to see them 3 times. First time was back in 1985. Going to see them again in a few weeks. You haven't been to a concert until you've been to a Tears For Fears concert. SUPERB beyond all belief.
I'm always so impressed watching Tears for Fears live performances. The sound quality and mixing in their live performances is absolutely phenomenal. They sound so good, like they're performing in a big studio. They must have some really exceptionally good engineers in their crew!
I saw them with Hall & Oates at Staples Center, which is one of worst sounding indoor arenas in the US and TFF sounded phenomenal in there. H&O sounded terrible.
So good to see a reaction to one their live performances! They are SENSATIONAL live, the whole band is at the top of their game and if they ever come to play somewhere near you please go! And wear your dancing shoes 😀
As an 70s and 80s kid i didnt realise how good we had it musically. Only fairly recently i see how good the music really was. Simply Red , duran duran , UB40 , Madness , The Jam , The police , The clash , The specials , Talking heads , U2 , The Smiths , Eurythmics , George Michael , Public Enemy , Run DMC , Guns n Roses , Metallica , Depeche Mode , ACDC , Culture Club , INXS , Kate Bush , Def Leppard , Prince , The Cars , The Pretenders, David Bowie , Van Halen , Whitney Houston , NWA , REM , LL Cool J , Queen , Beastie Boys , Rakim , Billy Idol , Aerosmith , Stevie Wonder , Fleetwood Mac , Tracy Chapman , Thompson Twins , De la Soul , Madonna , Pink Floyd and so many more it would fill a book. People who slate the 80s musically should take a look at this list
I just saw them in concert in Mountain View CA last night and they were amazing!!! Roland’s voice sounds as good as ever. They have so many crowd-pleasers that had everyone on their feet singing along. Highly recommend catching them.
Hey! I’m seeing them tonight at an amphitheater here in San Diego! I saw them 40yrs ago at the Irvine Meadows amphitheater. I can’t believe they’re coming here. Thanks for your comment!
@@dannycasson1551 That’s awesome! Kurt’s voice isn’t what it was and those early songs are some of my favorites, but once I accepted that it was great! And Garbage opened and they were great too! Have fun!
@@falcongal63 thanks man! .yeah, it’s ironic Curt sang a lot of the earlier stuff but I love Roland’s quirky style of singing. I like the new record..I wonder if they do any off it. I would love to hear “Rivers of Mercy.”
@@sarastromseth-troy3323 Thx I had no idea! i loved their songs, fr. the MTV era, but didn't pay too much attention,...that's why I love James channel, & the community! I discover great music! ☮️🖖🏼! -KimS
you've hit a completely new vein of great work 👏 👍! I wanted to name my first kid Roland because of this band!!! they are supposed to be touring again!!
Tears for Fears, always was one of the greats from the 80's, often got mixed in and lost in with the various more poppy bands but their music always was so good. It really shows when you start singing along. I'm appreciating a lot more of the 80's pop bands now that I'm in my late 40s, going on 50. I didn't appreciate the music as much back then. I was 13 when this song originally came out.
Awesome performance. Let me remind you.. KC coming to Cali once this year on their tour..go see them..Cali state Faircin Sacramento on July 21st. Check their tour schedule.. see them whe you can give them flowers now!
It was 1985 I lived in Germany at the time..they were huge Tears for Fears.. I always thought is was a song of Unity, That We're All People..and as PEOPLE we should always stand together and SHOUT TOGETHER.... UNITED WE INDIVISIBLE DIVIDED WE'RE NOTHING ... I was 20 years old President Reagan in office, Russia had the Wall, UNITY OF CULTURE RELIGION COMMUNISM NATIONS THE ENTIRE PEOPLE OF EVERY BRANCH COMPLETELY EQUAL AND TOGETHER... JUMP OR SHOUT FOR JOY COME ON THEY GIVE US LIFE I HOPE WE TELL THE TELL OF THE TOTAL UNITY OF LOVE AND SACRIFICE FOR STRENGTH IN OUR TIME --- 1980S UNITED WE CAN DO ANY, EVERYTHING DIVIDED THEY, WILL AND HAVE, CONQUERED US .. SHOUT COME ON THESE ARE THE THINGS WE CAN DO WITHOUT.. I LOVED THE 1980S GRADUATED HIGH SCHOOL 1984... LIVING ON A PRAYER NO ONE PUSHED THE RED NUC BOMB TO DESTROY US
I'm so glad Tears For Fears are getting the recognition they deserve, they've been a big favorite of mine forever. Love to hear your reaction to Woman in Chains, one of the most exquisite songs ever recorded. Also, Elemental, Break It Down Again, Goodnight Song, Raoul and the Kings of Spain, Secrets, Sowing the Seeds of Love, Mr. Pessimist... I could go on and on. Great reaction Jamel!
@@tff369 Thanks for sharing. That was SO COOL! This song has aged really well. I love watching youngsters on RU-vid discovering it for the 1st time. Actually, the whole band has aged very well. I'm looking at all 4 panels in the video & how the heck did everybody stay looking pretty much exactly the same throughout the years (older, of course, but still the same)?!
9:05 Yeah man! A group of people loving the same thing at the same time is fricken magical. Glad you did Tears for Fears! Also, the song/video you're talking about with them in a library is "Head over Heels", another fave. Head Over Heels was my summertime jam back in 1985-1986 (dating myself I know), I was sent south to Florida to spend the summer and there was this one girl that I was crushin on hard! Every time I hear HoH's it brings me back. F*&k I'm old!
No, no, it cant be that - we've just fallen into some odd time-slip or alternate universe in which most young people around us are unfamiliar with some of the best & timeliest music ever - from the 80s. 😂💖
I love me some Tears For Fears. They just played the Kia Forum last Saturday (several of my friends went). I'm them in Tampa this Friday and I'm super excited. Other songs of theirs you should check out are Mad World, Pale Shelter, Change, Mother's Talk, Head Over Heels (you need to listen to the album version that's paired with Broken), Sowing the Seeds of Love, Suffer the Children...
I've always loved this song. I also think it's funny to sing it as I'm spraying the shout stain remover.. 🤣 "these are the stains I can do without.." see, it's clever! 😂
Thank you Jamel. I had never seen this live version before. I absolutely love this song. This version is just wonderful. Loved hearing it and seeing it with you for the first time.😃❤️✌️🌼
Tears for Fears is awesome live. There are a lot of performances of them in concert on RU-vid and they are on tour right now for their new album, 'The Tipping Point.'
This version of the song is from the one of the "Night of the Proms" concerts that are performed in various countries in Europe. The Night of the Proms are annual concerts where popular music artists will play with full classical orchestras. Aside from the drums, the percussion you hear is a guy playing the xylophone along with a set of glass water bottles, each filled to a different level to create a different pitch.
Hi brother Jamel, I love your reviews. Tears for Fears is one of my favorite bands. Please take a chance and review their songs Working Hour, Elemental, Mr. Pessimister, Cold, and Raoul and the King of Spain. Many of these came later and after Curt Smith had his fallout with Roland Orzabal. I'm glad that Roland kept the band in existence until he and Curt settled their differences and reunited.
Jamel, if you want to see an awesome live song from TFF, watch "Badman's Song", either from California ("Going to California", live video) or from Knebworth, England, both from 1990!! You will freak at the musicianship and jamming the band does!
the camera men was from the Belgian Television één (Its flemish/Dutch) and it means Channel One. But the Producer normally at the Live Performance decides whish Picture we should see. Also talks the Producer permanently with the camera guys, what they should filming.
Fab song! Excellent live. Superb reaction, again, Jamel. The era when I was in my late teens. Ooph! Check out Howard Jones too - Things Can Only Get Better. peace
I saw them in 1BC (before covid 😁) and they still put on a great show. The opening act was Suzanne Santo (who also joined them as the background singer on the tour). You should check out some of her stuff. Handshake, Better Than That and Ghost In My Bed are good starters.
The Working Hour will soothe you out. So many great songs though. One of my favorite songs though is Brian Wilson Said, for personal reasons but if you don’t know it check it out.
Maybe my favorite band all-time. I love their song The Working Hour from the same album this song Shout came from. I love their two albums from the 1990s: Elemental and Raoul and the Kings of Spain. I hope someday you react to some of these too !! Thank you so much!
@@theplanetruth True. Also Tomcats Screaming Outside, Orzabal’s solo effort is something I love too. I’m 59 years old, and have loved Tears for Fears at the very second I heard their song Change playing while I was walking around a record store in 1983. Nearly 40 years.
