This is the concept of Karma damage. The more you kill, the more KR Sans deals in his fight (canonically speaking, since his fight is only for the Geno run.)

@@Fatumity oh don't get me wrong he was trying the whole battle to beat you But because he knows that from his reports, the timeline just comes to a stop, he already has the thought in mind that he's not really helping, only delaying the inevitable Hence the lines "and the be honest, it's making it really hard to give it my all" and "sooner or later on one of your turns you'll kill me" (I paraphrased a bit, but these are essentially the quotes) Sans was trying, but because he knew how insignificant his actions were, he just half assed the fight, not using his true potential Now if sans didn't know that the timeline was gonna just straight up end, he'd have no reason not to give it his all, instead of stopping you because the world is gonna end, even if he can't stop it, he'd rather be fighting you perhaps a lot earlier in the story since he wouldn't know that papyrus can just come back, and wouldn't want him to die Or at the very least would stop pap from trying to catch us, and deal with us a tad bit later
