I cannot believe I'm saying this but I have tears in my eyes. Pride. Brilliant work, Nikhil! These three episodes have been truly ones with a higher purpose. Thank you.
Again a brilliant effort as usual. People have forgotten their roots and culture. Unfortunately they've lost their taste of such beautiful fragrances as well. Only a handful still realize what gems lie in our past, and people like you who encourage traditional perfumery's revival, and those who are still associated with this business, deserve a lot of appreciation.
Nikhil, This reminds me of the saying (actually fact) that the finest quality wine is made from the tears of the poor. The work is so difficult, only the most poor will decide to do the work of tending the vines. It's their work (& the tears) crawling under the vines that differentiate a great wine from a good wine.
After watching this beautiful video, I decided to do something I very rarely do and that is to write a comment. And I find that I am not the only one who found tears coming to their eyes. Thank you for the lovely sharing of yet again another well crafted video. So much beauty in the world overlooked for the flash and gimmick. In my youth I had the good fortune to travel to India and was completely overwhelmed by the smells -- both the heavenly and the less so. If ever I have the opportunity to return I know where I will set my compass. I have wasted more time on RU-vid videos than I care to admit, but watching your videos are hardly a waste of time. I feel as if I am spending unpolluted time getting to know my own heart. Thank you! And please return to make more if you can -- your work is missed!
This really brings to light a consciousness of worldly treasures and the value of materials - society is gearing toward consumption based on shallow interest rather than humble value . when we become more materialistic in the sense of valuing earthly materials and focusing more on the quality of said materials rather the the quantity - we will become inherently more sustainable and elevated beings.
Nikhil- Bro I would certainly like to appreciate your efforts in promoting the heritage of India. Where some people are trying to sell "Dates and Office" perfumes everywhere on Youatube, which is totally crap and rubbish fragrances, good to find someone sharing the real talent of India. Keep on inspiring buddy!!
Sir this video definitely makes us think and feel sorry for stepmotherly attitude done by us all towards these fantastic artisans.it is necessary for us Indians to realise the importance of respecting and supporting our tradition of attar making and its unsung heroes.i thank you wholeheartedly for bringing about this awareness in all of us.thanks again🙏🙂
This was touching, I just watched this video. But surprising enough noone talked about improving the working condition of these workers. If the workers do not get paid enough, why would they want their kids to suffer like they did? The pride in their work in not enough to have them make the decision to bring their children into the profession. This is a sad story for most of the crafts. This is worse as the end product is sold at a premium..
I really love what you do I never knew it took all of that to make the oils and because of you now I know thank you for all of your hard work and dedication
Amazing video Nikhil, so nice to see the hard workers who make those incredible oils. It is such a shame this may die off due to the young not wanting to carry on this legacy.
Beautiful journey on the traces of the simple things and their uniqueness. Sensitive approach to the skillful and so humble hard workers. And most of all, a lesson about life and dedication. Thank you for sharing, Nikhil.
Very delighted to watch the video of how the oldest methods used in perfume and essential oils are made down from generation and since thanks to first the family that has kept going all this years with the loyal work force not forgetting the video crew who have devoted to to bring this trade to the world to witness and only those who knows and appreciate the perfumes creation by love and keep going my sincere heart feeling Love you all thank ❤ 🙏
Great work Nikhil! 👏 This trilogy was a real journey to us also. I enjoyed most, the people who live and breathe this job. Very moving to see these real life heroes and their deep understanding for the aromatic materials. 🙌 Beautiful people.. Kudos to your friend and leading man of the series Zak, for his star quality and emotional leverage 😊
Very nostalgic, Very appreciative Kannauj Series you made Nikhil ji, I hope our country specially the youth become aware and respect its culture &Gifts of our forefathers
This is soo good. I really loved the traditional techniques. These small perfumeries must be featured in travel channels and other tourism.. Also should me made as a tourist cultural visit. This way people will get publicity, fame and knowledge. We Indians underestimate ourselves. We have made everything possible in India that the western world doesn't know. I pitty for those who buy synthetic perfumes costing easily 200 eur. I would suggest these must be bottled and advertised just like the French brands who know how to market!
Beautiful artisans! I hope their hard work will yield a greater reward as more people learn about and appreciate them. Made my first order, waiting for it to ship to the US now.
Nikhil bhai... Thanks for this wonderful upload. I almost got choked with emotions. I hope this video is viewed by young generations and they do consider attars in their lifestyle Thanks once again🙏
If we want to keep this tradition go on we need to do something .... we can spread their msg there experience and what they want from youth to continues this tradition.... can do road side shows and events in school n colleges ... definitely it works
Hi sir. This ittar mitti is not available in delhi. I tried almost everywhere but not found even online concentrated products are there but not original. They are of bad reviews. We common ppl cannot go to kannauj for that thing. Please show us a way to buy it
Hello there It seems that still on our age there is a lot of potential in perfume making, by nothing else like, pure blood sweat and tears, great review Thanks Nikhil and friends ✍️⛲🎨💯🇺🇸
Looking forward to seeing more of these beautiful docus from you in future, bhai. When we visit our village, my elsdest chachi (uncle's wife) still cooks using woods and in clay pots, because the food tastes better - even though she can use gas and it is lot tougher to cook in 'classical' way. Thanks a lot for this wonderful series. I've shared all three episodes on Ouddict. Just one request, if possible, please ask Pranjal bhai to set up a system so that people from outside India can order in smaller quantities directly from him.
I thoroughly enjoyed the three videos in this series and I hope that you do more like them in the future. I contacted the companies featured in these videos to get information on whether they ship internationally to individuals and if they did, to supply me with pricing. S. Md. Ayub Md. Yaqub do ship internationally to individuals, but M. L. Ramnarain do not at this time, though they may do so in the future.
World says Switzerland is the only place where " Scotch Whiskey " is made. Same way India should be only place where " attar " Industry should dominate whole World. Ittar/attar means Indian perfume PERIOD !
Super stuff!!! A definite visit for me when next in India. Thanks for unraveling our traditional art form.On a different note, Nikhil, what is your opinion on Ensar Oud’s Oud Resin? Thanks & Regards
Nikhil bro have you read the book Shantaram ? It was a mind blowing book ive read years ago. This place reminds me of some of the parts. Anyway, outstanding indeed on how original they are and the devotion they have working in this industry for years and years....wow.
Brilliant content as always sir and salute to these brilliant artisans who continues to carry on this art with such honesty and hardwork. I also have a query for you sir, what attar would you recommend to a novice in fragrance, some guys say that i should start from basic designer perfumes and attars which would give me better perspective of things that i would like and things i dont. And then slowly progress to more complex and authentic attars and perfumes beacause as a novice wouldn't be able to appreciate and identify the originality and uniqueness of those products. But some suggest that these natural attars are purest form of fragrance, nature, culture and memories bottled into single bottle and are quite simple and can be enjoyed by anyone. Also have you tried or have any information regarding perfumes by these indian companies such as all good secents or Bombay perfumery, If so could you give little overview regarding them
excellent video Nikhil. Is it possible to consume ruh khus as a sherbat. Like adding a drop in cold water. Great work as always. Thanks for all the hard work.
The art and skills needs to be conserved each one has their own blending passed on from generation to another these are edible and divine when consumed with paan according to season ,take a drop of musl itra or hinna inbetel leaf in winter's to throw away woolie s
