I think we've just been conditioned by decades of rigid game design, where the player is limited by explicitly defined rules. We're not used to games that let us do pretty much anything we can think of.
I cannot begin to give enough credit and props to the developers for this game, it's truly astounding the amount of thought, creativity and care that went into these new abilities and making them work in ways most people would never imagine or try (but they seem to have accounted for anyway). Amazing stuff, I can't get enough of this game and what you can do with it.
It's a shame Ultrahand won't be in the mext release but I understand they gotta keep it fresh and find new ways to make the already incredible games even better
and idc if haters are calling it a lazy DLC version; i'm happy to revisit it again with newfound powers i've never knew i wanted until the demonstrations :3
Literally the comment right above yours at the time of me typing this Seriously, can we all just collectively stop the “why is no one talking about [thing]!?!” format? It’s incredibly hackneyed.
Just realised, if you can photograph those ghost rabits they can be used on the sensor and that way you can pick up all the caves! I learnt to do this with the treasure chests in BOTW. Amazing how many chests you miss
6:25 if you want to keep the material, go to Tarrey Town. There’s a goron kid that breaks fused things without destroying them for a price (20 rupees I think?). Super useful if you no longer need a ruby shield and wanna sell the gem :)
Was just going to leave the same comment. Yes, 20 rupees. INCREDIBLY USEFUL when you fuse something accidentally to your shield instead of your sword, like I did!
amazing tip. I wasn't using the gems because I don't want to waste them. Now I will use and go to this kid when the weapon is almost done. thank you so much
With all the stuff you can do and ability you got. It is a big suprise this game is not a broken mess. They really did a crazy good job. Gamefreak should learn from this and takes notes. Zelda totk shows a game does not have to be a broken mess only because the switch is old. Imagine a pokemon game like this
@@estebanco6937 that is true in most cases. But I believe scarlet and violet has been in development for like 3 years. It really has no excuse for the state it was released in
@@j.dviant And people will continue to buy Zelda games because of it's brand as well. The difference in quality stems from the standards being upheld, not money.
You can also use the gems/elemental like stones as a source of temperature. Ruby fused on equipement keeps you warm in cold areas and sapphire for hot areas
Yep, both a buff for weaker players, no losing all your stamina while you aim, and a nerf for stronger players since there's much less ability to spam shots.
Cool tip with the auto-assemble ability: You can use it to automatically collect items! For example, stick a giant clump of apples together, and save that as a template. Then bring out that template near an apple tree, and watch the apples fly into the clump!
I will definitely have to try this. i dont have auto-assemble yet, but i do like to collect apples just to top my life up when i'm only missing a heart or two
I’ve used the recall trick so many times in shrines by hanging the item in the air for a few seconds, then getting onto the higher platform, recall it and then ultrahand to it onto the platform. Have worked around so many mechanics doing this
@@satorii_2060 one for niece's bday this month (8), one for nephew's bday this month (5), and one for me. idk if they'll actually play it more than 1-2 hours but this is a risk i'm willing to take
I have had so much fun with this game. My boyfriend laughs at some of my inventions and the names totk calls them in inventory. I think our latest laugh was Super Sticky Stick- Two super long sticks combined. Even funnier sheathing it and seeing Link straddle that tall of a weapon 😆 Thanks for the extra ideas! Some of these I hadn't thought of yet!!
It's insane to think so many interactions have been programmed into this game. It's like BOTW dialed to 11. And the best part is that there are yet so many discoveries to be made! Excellent video! Thanks for sharing these tips!
I know I'm late, but I just wanted to say thank you for making these videos. You're probably one of the few people on RU-vid that actually gives out useful tips without outright telling people to play the game a specific way.
Finally a vid that isn't just "go here and get OP armor!!1!!". This is exactly what I was looking for, amazing. Made the early game that much better for me
recently got ToK and only just arrived in Hyrule. I knew I was definitely missing out on really good tricks on more efficient combat with the systems this game has, so these tricks are going to be VERY fun and helpful to try out. Thanks for the video! (Also thanks for adding in the thing about the ghost rabbit. I thought you needed to catch it and never even attempted attacking it!) One thing I did figure out on my own: If you're out and about during a lightning storm, you obviously make sure you're not wearing any metal to avoid getting zapped... BUT THEN you use your Ultrahand to run around with something metal and you can attract lightning to specific spots (like on enemies or large trees or whatever). Just be careful to keep the metal pretty far away as the lightning blast has a pretty good AoE.
This was great info for a noob. I just started playing and I really wanted to learn all the stuff on my own without looking it up, but there is just way too much to learn that quickly ✌️💚
The idea of rotating long objects for recall blew my mind and reminded of platforming games. I had thought to make moving platforms with flat objects when I found out how recall works with ultrahand, but I hadn’t thought of that next step
I didn’t think I’d come out of this video learning thing that will ACTUALLY help me with my entire play through, but goddamn! You earned a sub brother.
Another tip with the blupees, they often stick around caves and will run into or around them when they startle. It’s been very useful for finding caves that npcs tell me the area of
Instead of destroying the fuse material you can go to terrytown and there's a goron that will remove the fuse item for you without deleting it. Cost 20 rupees tho
Wow! I never tought about doing the ultra hand moving stuff and then play it backyard!!😮 The worst, is that it's something they showed you early on in one of the shrines, but when I finished that shrine, that info just got out of my head. That game is brillant! 😊
A cool way i found to use the zonai glider in mid air is to start paragliding and stand still, aim your camera in the direction you want to spawn your zonai glider, open your menu and pull out a glider, then hold forward before or as soon as you close the menu, finally after a tiny bit close your paraglider and you should land on the wing
@@youtubehatestruthtellers8065 i figured it out myself on release a couple hours into the game, thought to try and see if i can pull it out midair and get in it. At first i tried to pull it out while still moving forward and realized it was going faster than Link, then after a few more attempts i figured i should stand still and see what happens. Once i was at that step it was a simple solution
This is very helpful. Some of these I already knew but learned new ways to use them in different scenarios and a lot of these I probably never would have thought of. There's really so much you can do. I have watched so many videos of people playing and everyone is playing the game and solving the puzzles a little bit differently. As a kid I wish there was more I could spend my rupees on in Zelda games because I wish there was more to do. I think what I really wanted to a wide variety of things to do. Breath of the Wild hit the nail on the head and Tears of the Kingdom drove it through all the way.
I love how they specifically made sure the rewind could be active at any time in order to allow us to combo it with the other powers instead of strictly limiting us to one power at a time.
You, sir, are a gentleman and a scholar! You have no idea how much this helped! I was so frustrated with the game but your tips completely changed the game for me and now I am having a ton of fun!🎉 thank you so much!!!
Wow I just realized that after two months of playing this game, I have not been using these tools to their full potential! I have always thought of myself as a creative person, but I didn't know these things were even possible! Thank you for sharing, I will definitely be trying all of these tips for the rest of the game!
if you shield jump with either spring bombflower or wing fused to shield it will yield varing degrees of height all getting into bullet time pretty sure
You seriously are a PRO. Thanks, I've just bought it yesterday and at times I've felt overwhelmed but with this tutorial i have a different perspective
im actually surprised with some of the techniques you came up with, they are pretty smart and creative, good job. i wonder if the devs had this in mind
I'm definitely sure the devs had a looot of options in mind, but you cant compete with millions of players. People will come up with the strangest things.
@@X1erra Probably not part of the plan in that sense, but I'm pretty sure they were aware of it being a thing, it just seems like one of those things that would break so much fun stuff as a necessary consequence if it were to be fixed.
Another trick to get into the sky for elevation is to use the flamethrower on grass and create an updraft. I personally use this tactic for the Battle Talus fights.
These tips are amazing. Subbed, liking and commenting for the algorithm. Hope to see more vids like this and the overpowered guide. Good luck with your channel!
This is wild. I just started getting into this game and am realizing I've been playing it wrong this whole time. Thank you!! I know the game will be even more fun for me now 😄
I had no idea there was THIS level of freedom to manipulate the world around you….. my wallet hates you but this is the final push I needed to get this game lol.
@@gas481 did you get to the underworld yet? I heard the textures are all messed up and it's unplayable. I just got the game on pc yesterday and so far it's working perfectly
And once you progress enough in the game and find the under ground temple, you get the rebuild ability, so any contraptions or traps you built can quickly be remade
I'm not far into this game yet, this video was awesome!! I never thought of using recall to reach places or build traps etc You've gained a subscriber 🥰
Tears is a *Masterpiece.* I still think the Runes from the previous game are totally Overpowered but Tears' Ascend and Recall Abilities are,, scary lol.
I must thank you profusely for opening my eyes on the usefulness of the _Rewind_ ability. I shelved it on the "for specific puzzles only" drawer in my brain and most often than not completely forgot it exists.
I was just putting this on in the background to get some tips but I ended up watching the entire thing like 😮 this is all so creative and I'm going to use it right away!
I have had BOTW for a year or two...only just got really into it a couple weeks ago. Finishing up a few things until I'm satisfied with my level of completion. I just bought and downloaded TOTK today. I already thought it looked super fun BUUUUUT you my friend just made this game look like the last game I may ever play😂 Thanks for the video. I am so pumped to fire this game up tomorrow.
I'm a creative writer, I spend my entire day imagining things, and yet somehow none of these ever occurred to me. I guess as a gamer I'm kinda old school.
Best pro Tip: Just ignore all the video spoilers, sit down, take your time and explore the game on your own... in your own pace. And just take in every second of it. Because it will pass... like all good things.
Also if you put elemental rocks on your shield, you can negate temperature effects. Like adding the ruby gem to your shield helps increase your temperature so you don't easily freeze
the sheer amount of ways you can do combat in this game is just mind blowing. All the hype is well deserved. Most of these things I haven't even occured it.
The problem with your shield surfing is that you’re doing it on a mesh tagged with the rock texture. You need the Grass texture tag with the Wet flag checked for best results. Lol
