I just wanted to say thank you so much for all of your videos. If it wasn’t for you and a few others I don’t think I wouldn’t have passed my Teas test! 😊 I love how you go over stuff thoroughly.
Aww, thank you so much for the kind words! I'm so happy to hear that - you really made my day 😊 Congratulations on passing TEAS, woohoo! Best of luck with the nursing school application
Thank you so unbelievably much for this entire reading series, it's helping me so much understanding and getting prepared for my exam! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
Hi Professor Yu, I just subscribed to your channel. I take my TEAS in 3 weeks and so far your videos have helped a ton! I was just wondering if these videos still relate to the TEAS 7 since they've lowered the questions from 47 to 39, yet they still cover the same topics? Thank you.
Hello and great question! I have yet to thoroughly review the Reading and English sections. I only finished fully reviewing the Science section. I noticed when I skimmed through the new ATI study guide that some of the topics have been moved to the English section. So even though the Reading section is smaller with fewer questions, I'd say the topics in the videos are still relevant and will help you improve your reading skills. I hope this helps 🙂
Hi professor Yu i am new to your channel , i took the teas 7 a few weeks ago and i didnt do well, im hoping your videos will help me. i just have a quick questions do all your videos help for teas 7 version???
I'm sorry to hear that...but many students don't do well the first time they take TEAS. Studying and hard work can change it so definitely keep it up. I hope the videos will be helpful to you too! All science videos should help with TEAS 7. Reading videos should help for the most part. I haven't taken a closer look at the Reading section yet but I heard from a student recently that TEAS 7 reading has some ususual questions. I will have to look into that. Let me know if you have any other questions :-)
Fantastic! Sounds like you are studying hard. 5 hours a day is really not easy to do - it requires a lot of self discipline! Glad to hear you are doing great and sticking to your plan. Let me know if you have any questions about the material. Happy studying :-)
@Professor Yu what is the difference between the main idea and the best summary of the passage or the paragraph. I get confused between the two all the time!
That's a good question! The main idea is what the author tries to convey - it's the author's message to you. But a summary is a synopsis of the entire passage including all the major points in the passage. So for example, say you read this anti-war passage. The author may argue war is bad based on a few reasons like humanity, economic, and ecological. So the main idea is that war is bad and should be avoided. The summary could be a brief description of what the author's positions and supporting details such as war is bad because it kills innocent people, damages a country's economy, and destroys the environment. As you practice more, you will get a hung of this. 😊
You are very welcome! Thank you for letting me know! I appreciate it! Unfortunately I won't be able to tutor you because I have a full time job and it's taking up a lot of my time... So I don't think I will be able to provide you with quality tutoring. Sorry! Hopefully you can find someone else who can help you with TEAS English. 😊
That's a really great suggestion. Thank you! Unfortunately I haven't been able to find time to make new vidoes lately. I'm only able to answer questions about TEAS now... I'm very sorry. But hopefully in the near future I will be able to make more videos. If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a comment and I will get to it as soon as I can 🙂
@@professoryu5571 no , its a question on the TEAS about reliable sources . For example: which of the following sources would be the best starting point for sarah’s research ? A. Thesaurus B. Websters Dictonary C.Encyclopedia D.University of Oxford style guide
@@professoryu5571 it says: Sarah has a short research project to complete, her assigned topic is the history of the Globe Theatre in London. Which of the following sources would be the best starting point for Sarah’s research ?
@@dannayshagray5116 I would choose C. Encyclopedia as a starting point. A is for synonyms and antonyms of words. B is for word meanings/definitions. D. is a style guide for writing and formating documents which will come handy later when Sarah writes the research paper but not at the beginning C. provides some basic facts about the Globe Theatre which will be a good starting point for someone who doesn't know the structure very well yet. I hope this makes sense. 🙂
