That's literally what a heavily driven vox sounds like. That's why a dirt pedal is used upfront to bend the gain from the pedal into the vox gain. Radiohead had a lot of super gainy vox tones, they do sound a lot more abrasive than almost any other amps gain. The Timmy V2, blues driver and Hotcake are probably the most used flavours of gain to blend with vox distortion, but a RAT is also good. When mixed with other gain the Vox distortion sounds really nice. An AC30 does sound like this and so does a good AC15, I've owned a few. It is literally the sound of Vox gain.
