I had this pedal for a while and it sounded equally good through the front of an amp-it was actually easier for me to dial in that way-just set your amp eq flat.
I did it. It works pretty good even if you can't disengage the cabinet simulator. Anyway it could be useful if your amp breaks during a gig. It happened to me. That pedal saved my day.
Hi! Your videos are always useful and well done, thank you. How about putting this pedal in the effect loop of an amp? Did you try that? I have the same daughter as you have, same age, same looks, same behaviour and she loves watching your daugther!
GREAT clip, mate! Very entertaining as well as being informative. And your playing is perfect. I'm now definitely getting one of these. I have a Brian May pedal which does a pretty decent job for direct recording but it sounds a bit too sterile. I also have the vox ac30 amplugs which are good too but this just sounds great. I do have a nice fender tube amp but I can't crank it, (NYC apt) without major complaints. This might do the trick. Cheers!
Well, as much as I'd love to I can't because I don't have any of those models other than the Galileo with me. The Liverpool was moved on to pay some bills and I don't think I've even tried a BC-2. Sorry..!
@Burgerman666 is there anyone who used the ac30 other than brian may? does this box only do the ac30? can this pedal go any heavier than brian may? nice demo.
Burgerman: It really seems that with the new pedals from Tech21...that they sound best when recorded direct instead of in combination with an amp, is that right? I like the "long" format versions of your vids as they give us a better idea of what the gear does...and your daughter just cracks me up...to funny!
@Burgerman666 Well, I am sorry to hear that they have done that. My thing was that I wanted to know if the spkr emulator had any effect on tone. Thanks again.
Brett, could you tell me if this pedal works fine connected to a amp? Here you are recording straight to the PC with the speaker simulator? But in front of a tube amp how it's sounds? thank you
Which one of the Character Series pedals would you recommend for punk? I have the US Steel and it seems to fit the bill pretty well, but of course I'd love to add another one! :)
Thanks for the great demos, mate. If stranded on a desert island and had to play Tom Petty tunes to survive, do you pick the Tech 21 Liverpool or the Carl Martin AC Tone? Many thanks.
Hey B-man, Ain't been around for a while. Sadie is getting bigger. I was wondering if you know anything about the new Liverpool V2? Let me know. Later.
Great vids Burgerman666! I'm heading a campaign to get Tech21 to make PROGRAMMABLE RACKMOUNT VERSIONS of these pedals. Those of you who use these on a regular basis understand the need I'm sure! Anyhow, the only way that will happen is if the folks @ Tech21 get a sufficient amount of people asking for this. So if you have a few minutes go to their website and put in your request (phone and/or email). Thanks & good luck!!!
@@Butterking99 it's not a waste of money, in my opinion, to keep people in the USA employed. when my neighbor does well, my community does well. if i want to stay employed, i cannot begrudge my neighbor for wanting to stay employed. etc, etc, etc. the value of "made in USA" is obvious.
The playing on this video is great but the pedal doesn't convince me it's an AC30 apart from a few Queen Phrases. The Day tripper riff is just too thin. Considering the modern Vox AC15 goes for around $700 in Australia now I don't know of this pedal is worth the effort given that it costs almost $400 here.
Get a Joyo AC Tone from ebay. Does it sound like the Beatles? Maybe you can tweak it to something similar. You should note, that Vox amps sound differently among the years, the tubes in them, the guitar/pickups/other effects, strings, picks, your hands, the mics used to record it, the room/space it was recorded in, the recording console and outboard gear, mixing, mastering, recording medium, and etc etc etc.. Even if you had a mint Vox from the era you wish, all those other things come in to play. On the other hand, these can probably get a little cleaner than an actual Vox amp and get dirtier as well.
