Fell in love with this board. Had a chance to sample this board back n Feb when a Yamaha rep, right after NAMM show, had it & I asked him . He pulled it out of his car & allowed demo @ GC. My kinda board .

@@monsterjazzlicks I'd hope for the same keybed as on this unit. This one feels great, and while playing piano, I was really missing the extra octave on this unit.

Great demo! Very tempted by this board. I had a Roland VR760 and I loved it. If this was a 73/76 note keyboard I would order it immediately. I’d love to see this with that extra octave and another set of draw bars.

anything disappointing about the 730?

Jonathan Osborn I did have a VR730 as well. It didn’t have aftertouch and the synth section didn’t sound as good as the VR760. I bought it new at a very reduced sale price as a backup to my VR760. I sold both as I upgraded to new synths.

Blake thank you so much! I just got my YC61 and am setting it up to replace my top board (Hammond SKPro)…the tips you gave for the keys sections is extremely valuable especially the Rhodes settings…thank you so much. I had them good but after this they jump out the way we all want on stage…please keep these videos coming and if you have any pull please talk to Yamaha about a high trigger point for the organs…I’m surprised they missed that

Then Yamaha, please you just have to make a 73 notes keyboard YC73 and it will be perfect !

Thanks, Blake! I have and love the CP88. My favorite sounds are the C7 and Nashville C3. I used to have and love a Montage 6 and it served me well. I loved the ability to have many sounds, but never used most of its functionality. As well, it was solid, but so solid I didn’t gig with it as it was big and heavy. I’m looking for more sounds, especially organ and synths. I think the YC 61 or YC 73 would be great, but there is also MODX. Any suggestions for someone who wants great keys (the actual action), lots of sounds, ability to manipulate the sound (loved the wheel on the Montage and also the MODX), built well but also light enough to travel easily for gigs?
