Im thinking about gas porting my pistons. But the question of durability came up considering it is a street engine. It is an enthusiast car only driven during summer. But still Id like it to last a reasonable time. Would you say gas ported pistons are worth it for a street engine? As I understand it gas ported rings are less of a concern since the rings rotate and thus wear the bore even.
I find piston manufacturers will put overly generous valve reliefs, both radial, and depth, which forces larger domes and messes with ring package placement plus forces a 3rd ring support rail which I do not prefer. If allowed to. This happens with supposed "custom" pistons.
Because more torque isn't needed, sometimes not even beneficial. Horsepower is if the goal is to make it faster. More Horsepower naturally aspirated requires rpm.
@@roncoburn7771 Yeah most don't really want to drag race. They just want to go faster and put it on their buddies bike. The guy who was bragging about having the biggest torque number on the dyno.
