George, I just found your site, I must say I really enjoy your lectures. I like you had a SF110 in 1970 and my SF600 was serial # 11. I must have least 30,000 flow tests. But I did start to question what the engine really sees, you address this also. I have told people for years the engine runs on pressure differential. But 35 years ago I built my own wet flow bench, long before the Mondelo thing was the big deal. But My wet flow bench had a piston in the bore and I could set the piston at different positions to see where the fuel was going in the cylinder. My cylinder head designs have won the Engine Masters Challenge over 8 times. But I think you will agree with this, the true measure of the efficiency of any engine is in, how much timing does it need to make best power. One of my cylinder designs that I spent lots of time with on my wet flow bench, will make best power at 17deg total timing. And as you know some 4 valve engines will not even do that. Thanks for sharing your vast experience with the world, we can all learn something.

It's rare for someone so successful, to share their knowledge on an open forum like this. Thank you George, I look forward to getting my just purchased 3/4 cam installed and tuned in my bike. Now off to watch your TT on ring seal to see how bad I missed up with this HD kit. Do you give a senior citizen discount? LMAO :)

A pitot tube does not measure velocity. it measures total pressure. A pitot/static tube is needed.

I like your opinion on how each cylinder needs different cam timing ( makes sense to me) . Why not replace the cam with an ecm controller for the Valves ! Firing orders of combustion engines are unique though! Just my two cents worth .

It’s cool that you tried velocity on a running engine to be able to measure it would need to be able to collect data points at a minimum of 113 hz for that rpm not sure if that would even be fast enough to get it 👍👍👍
