Tech Team Makes a Wide Range Hose and Duct Clamps in a Wide Range of Sizes. Knowing how to buy the Correct Size can be a Challenge
There are a few variables to consider when measuring for a hose or duct clamp but they all boil down to one thing and that is knowing the inside diameter of the clamp that is needed. This correspondingly is also the outside diameter of the duct or hose and then allowing for the adjustment range of the clamp, making sure it can close tight enough to do the job. No matter what the shape of the hose or duct, the circumference is the important thing to measure and you can easily do this with a piece of string or tape. Divide this by 3.14159 and you will have the diameter - it’s that simple.

Good ideas. How about using a soft tape measure, similar to the ones a tailor uses?
