A long video where I almost manage to restore a Technics RS-TR474 mark 2 dual cassette recorder. The frequency of blabbering and ranting in this one is quite substantial, as I get quite irate with the thing.
I'm hoping the pinch roller's for my Technics RS-DV 280 from a company called DECK TECH will be of far better quality Chinese ones really look bad quality.Nice video I will also be replacing the capstain belts and other rubber belts.I nearly forgot to ask are the pinch rubbers 6MM WIDE x 13mm diameter and the plastic pins/axle 1,or 2mm dia.?
Hello Sadly, I have not yet found a decent replacement for these pinchrollers. I'd recommend steering clear of these decks if you want top quality. For me, I just set this up in my 'workshop' as it can just loop through 2 tapes without me having to get up and change it. Honestly, for that, it does its job. If you lower your expectations, you can just use the cheap rollers from ebay/aliexpress. Hope this helped
@@kovutlk appreciate the reply! I actually managed to grab some replacements from eBay that seem better quality than the ones you had in the video, gave them a try (the original ones that came with it were crumbled away and old) and it's working perfectly! they are a nice flat rubber and the axel in the middle seem really strong and higher quality plastic, it's working perfectly now!
Hi never use IPA or any alchool un rubber because will become hard alnd will lose grip. Maybe use glass cleaning liquid wich has only a bit alchool on it. I have same deck and LCD display fade out. I can barely see when is on. Can be fixed or is damaged? Was working but abut a month ago fade out. Thanks for your help.
Hello. It's a common misconception that VFDs easily fade out. Usually, unless they've been heavily used and abused, it's a power supply issue. Check voltages
