Technics x STOKYO | DJ Shortkut | NAMM Show 2022 DJ Shortkut @shortkut @stokyo_usa @stokyo_japan @technics_global Video produced by Open Format @openformat.la
it wasn't the technics turntable... it was the needle-less sensor not mating with serato correctly... he popped normal analog needles on so the serato software would read the records time info... sorry to geek out on ya.. :)
He fuckin kills it as he always does, so tight and the best at chirps imo,all these corporate nobs in the background aint got a clue wtfs going on! Respect Shortkut!
Shorts stabs and transforms are untouchable. He doesn’t do a single chirp in this set. For chirps, look to the dude in the Tribe shirt at around 14:00 or Chris villa
I wonder too what happened!? But he killed this set after going back to The Concordes….maybe they needed recharging!? 🤷🏽♂️ looks bad on Phase tho being at NAMM in the Technics Booth and have a failure before the set even gets going…
I don't understand how you wouldn't want a tone arm and the tactical feel of putting the needle down. I'd feel so disconnected from the set that way just pushing cue buttons.
The RANE 12 wouldn’t need phase since….well it IS an HID controller with direct connection so it’s already better than a Phase remote. The whole wireless deal is kinda pointless since you’d still have to plug it into a wall for the spinning platter 🤣
@@FLIPTHESCRIPTRADIO hell, I still feel a “disconnect “ when spinning a DVS vinyl anyway😂 feels very strange to the point where if I’m spinning entirely off my laptop I’d rather just bring a DDJ controller 😂
@@babyandbebe8153 he's good but in my opinion not the grandmaster. He tries to do too much and his routines are messy. On the other hand shortkut is nice clean and crisp.. especially his stabs. Check out the battle between him and Craze..
Two different personalities who each are at the pinnacle of mastery. I have been lucky to DJ with both of them and they are both jaw dropping. I always personally played sets more like shortcuts approach but they are both top of the class imo.
i hate those needle-less setups.... just another battery to die quick... he dropped the ortofons on the decks and everything got a lot tighter for him i bet
@@pN1zzL3816 thanks, man. I heard the song but never knew the title. So that funky beat was first invented in 1973, 15 long years before Rob Base sampled it in their song.
SHORT IS one of the grand master elites, dont get it twisted. everyone has their specialty, and shortkuts is juggling, ultra fast cuts (advantages of being hamster style), AND imho has the best sportsmanship of them all. And as far as being left handed, hes probably the top dog in this category. Dj tyra was/is one of those elite lefthanders too. I dont know if shes still active, but "sleepy cuts" was HARD AS HELL.
