Fourth of July is only a couple of days away, and as people are getting ready to celebrate with friends, family, food and fireworks a local counselor wants to remind the community that loud booms can be chronic Post Traumatic Stress Disorder triggers.
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs reports about 12 million Americans suffer from PTSD annually, and on average 30 percent of soldiers who have been in a war zone will develop PTSD.
Now, while they're back at home, many have to learn how to deal with another battle - coping with the impacts of fireworks.
