I am from Brazil and watch them live in 2022 in Curitiba (PR) prior to NICKO stroke and he was killing at 69years old, was the best concert of my life, one that i will never forget!! If i may have another request a song from queensryche anything from the Operation mindcrime album!! cheers my friend

one of my favorite performances is live in cologne when they open for Metallica, the video quality is not the best but the band sounds amazing, it can be the song that is also the name of the album. (operation mindcrime - live in cologne 1988) @@timeRitual

Iconic band. I actually saw their first ever gig in Sweden on October 9th 1980, supporting KISS. An absolutely mesmerizing evening as I was there primarily to see KISS, but went home with a smile on my face and a big question mark - What the h**k had I just witnessed? I saw them 1981-1984 every time they came to Sweden and then I saw them 2012 and 2018 again. Note: The sound is still very low. :)
If you want to hear another massively long note from Bruce, you should check out Sanctuary on Live After Death. You won't be disappointed. The Seventh Tour of a Seventh Tour in 1988 was my first concert & I absolutely love this album & all things Maiden. All of the boneheads that are complaining about how long Maiden songs are now and that they are progressive are not real Maiden fans. Those are the people who want The Number of the Beast part 1000, which is ridiculous. As a drummer myself, I appreciate hearing someone who actually knows what they are talking about with regards to the drums! BTW, the only album that they played in its entirety was A Matter of Life and Death. Did you see Nick playing with the Royal Marine orchestra about a week ago? That's something else to check out & the kit Nicko used for those performances is up for auction (not that I'll ever be able to afford it - the last bud I saw was £51,000, which I guess is around $60,000 or so). Anyway great reaction!
Thanks for the recommendation. I've seen a bit of Live After Death but I don't think I've seen the Sanctuary part so I will check it out! I'm glad you agree regarding the more progressive side of Maiden. True fans will be at least curious and open for them to experiment. Also, thank you for the compliment regarding my drumming knowledge, that means a lot coming from another drummer. I appreciate it!! What would you say is Nicko's best drum performance on a Maiden track? I think Rime of the Ancient Mariner is up there for me. I have not seen Nicko play with the Royal Marine orchestra, I had no idea he was doing that. I will definitely check it out. Crazy the cost of the kit, must be a famous kit from a tour or record from the past. Thanks so much for your detailed comment!
@time-ritual for some reason, I never saw that you replied until now. Anyway, I agree that Rime is one of Nicko's best performances. Other ones that I would rank among his best would be The Trooper (that is my favorite song of all time, after all), Paschendale, Brighter Than a Thousand Sun's (that one is just insane), Powerslave, Seventh Son, & Sign of the Cross. The Time Machine on Senjutsu is pretty awesome, too. As far as the auction goes, the kits a one-off, especially made for the Royal Marine performances. I just checked the current bid out of curiosity & it's now £65,000 which is $81,000. I really wish I had that kind of money, lol.
@Timeritual I've been a diehard Iron Maiden fan since the first album (yeah I'm that old) Imo Seventh Son of a Seventh Son is the best album. No filler songs.
Wow, much respect for following Maiden for their entire career like that. I also agree, I think SSOASS is my favorite album of theirs. "Only the Good Die Young" really stands out to me even though its not a single. Wish they would play that one live. @@lw3918
Should have done nec in 88 instead it’s a better recording I loved this tour they were so good to attend but for what ever reason there’s no indoor stadium performances recorded for it just my opinion
