At first I wasn't impressed and thought the track was boring. It was only until after I listened to a few more times that I truly heard the quality of the harder styles in this track. This is the appreciation of the styles that we all started with and found ourselves addicted to!
im only 16 years old so i wasnt really around for the oldschool era, but this track is unreal! 3:05 :O now i know why i always see people yapping about nu-style and mainstream shit being produced nowadays
Good job, you hit the nail on the head, selling out is exactly the issue here. Way to take 'all' literally, obviously not all nu-style is the same, but most of them consist of the same formula which is what I outlined before. We DO stick to the old tracks, but the issue here is more so that we'll probably never hear an old school set live again and listening to it live/at home is a major difference.
most of the tracks were like that back in the days, based on a good beat/ rythmics and noise variations rather than a fancy melo. it has that good oldskool feeling , theracords stuff these days is rather euphoric and upbeat, not all but most of it
Definitely for old school and reverse bass lovers! Loved it! Old school and reverse bass lovers shouldn't even complain about this release. How many years have we waited just to hear something like this from TB?!
This is what early hardstyle was like. Leads and kick patterns would be played around with through the entire song. Euphoric climaxes were disregarded completely, or they were very dark and simplistic. Personally, shit like war machine was the era that I found hardstyle to be the best
i almost cried from what i heard here. This is so hard and so mighty. This is what hardstyle is about. Heavy beats and lots of reverb on the screeches! And for sure reverse bass
This is old skool style... get over it, actaully it sounds pretty awesome while played @ party's.. its something different you know, eventho.. i like the new Hardstyle (So called 'Nu-Style' ) more then this.. but sometimes old skool gives me (and others) a good drive.. Bringing back feelings from back in the days.. guess this has to do with age.. im into hardstyle since 2003 ive seen and heard it evolve into what it is today.. and believe me this track is way better then those from 2003.. ~
Nu style stuff is more interesting due to the melodies at home or in the car, but when you hit the club, everyone just loses their shit with an old reverse bass on a gigantic sound system.
Unless you've made an "lod style" party! The feeling wasn't the same. We were there for the music, for the bass. And I think than people who don't know this feeling can't talk about Nu/old Style.
Well, I guess there's something for everyone. Old school hardstyle also kind of "sounds the same". It's what happens to every genre before it looses popularity, and it's happening to nustyle right now. Let's just see what the next cool thing will be. :)
I don't understand why all the arguing about the evolution of the genre. Its increasing popularity brought a huge amount of new producers and new labels and now you have vocal, emotional, dark, raw, early, industrial, hardstyle/hardcore or dubstep/hardstyle hybrids and many other kinds of hardstyle tracks. There's plenty of all for you to listen. You don't like mainstream hardstyle? Just search for early tracks or the releases of some minor labels whose focus is oldskool or industrial music
hurry up and release this!!! I'm so happy to hear some hardstyle that doesn't subscribe to the rubbish format of most hardstyle these days. MORE. LIKE THIS.
actually, i started listening just before the nustyle movement in 2005...who cares about when i started to listen to hardstyle? that doesnt mean im some 12 year old who doesnt know anything about this music...and it doesnt magically mean that hardstyle will now magically be called "nustyle"...
All of that which you just said... Fucking genius. You have described exactly how I feel about how Hardstyle is going these day, you sir, deserve a fucking hug!
As a final point - the difference between my opinion and all these nustyle defenders is that I've EXPERIENCED (i.e. been at live sets) what I've disliked about hardstyle, they haven't. The amount of times I've been at an event where an old school reverb kick comes on and the crowd goes 1000x more wild than any other nu-style song. If you have seen an old school set live and still think nustyle is good, all the power to you. If not, maybe expand your horizons before dismissing what I say.
