Its effectiveness can be deduced from the categorization of emollients published by a consensus of experts in 2016 (See www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4776387/). Atopic Dermatitis is a chronic relapsing disease that does not permanently heal, but tends to regress over the years. Continued use of a barrier repair emollient it's helpful . The time needed to notice an improvement varies from subject to subject and depends on many factors also related to lifestyle. Generally an improvement can be seen in a couple of weeks.
