This workshop seeks to further advance interdisciplinary collaborations in maternal health technology by bringing together researchers, technology developers, and community partners to identify technology gaps and consider how new technologies can be used to improve maternal health and ultimately treat and/or prevent maternal morbidity and mortality (MMM). The welcome remarks frame the discussion from leaders at NIH, Dr. Bruce Tromberg of NIBIB, Dr. Janine Clayton of ORWH, and Dr. Diana Bianchi of NICHD.

Thank you doctors. Enjoying this workshop. I hope you will touch on, at some point, why the U.S. is the most dangerous place in the developed world for our mothers to deliver their babies. It's not because of the land mass, it's mostly do to our poor diets and lack of daily movement and lifestyle education years and years prior to a woman about to become a mom. This paves the way for stacking odds against a mom to be, in reference to such issues as pre and e- clampsia, etc. Correct, anything can happen at anytime, for no rhyme or reason but we know the western/U.S. lifestyle is killing us.... literally and that includes moms to be. Tech. and pills are a great tool if warranted but often times the "cure" is inexpensive and right in front of us- on a fork. Keep up the great work, looking forward to watching more content from you. Thank you
