The Buccaneers beat the Chargers on Reggie Cobb's 57-yard TD run on the game's final play. Before he was injured in the 2nd quarter, Vinny Testaverde completed 80% of his passes for 98 yards and a TD pass. Steve DeBerg came in and completed 46% of his passes for 154 yards and a TD pass. DeBerg also had 20 yards rushing. Reggie Cobb had 192 all-purpose yards (163 rushing, 29 receiving) and 3 TDs. Ron Hall caught 3 passes for 78 yards. Lawrence Dawsey caught 2 passes for 76 yards and 2 TDs. Mark Carrier caught 2 passes for 64 yards. Tampa Bay's defense had 3 sacks and a fumble recovery. Stan Humphries completed 60% of his passes for 112 yards and a TD pass. Marion Butts had 271 all-purpose yards (210 rushing, 61 receiving) and 2 TDs. Rod Bernstine had 77 all-purpose yards (68 rushing, 9 receiving) and 2 TDs. Nate Lewis had a 37-yard TD reception. San Diego's defense had 7 sacks and an interception. Burt Grossman had 4 of those sacks for the Chargers. In a matchup of last place teams, both the Buccaneers and Chargers were running fools. Just over 500 total yards rushing (291 for the Chargers, 216 for the Buccaneers). Tampa Bay had a big running play in the end that won the game.
