IT may be Emmy award winning but it's only available in the UK on crappy AppleTV which only 9% of homes even bother with, that means it's maximum audience if everyone who has AppleTV watches it is 2.5million homes.....given that Amazon & Netflix will also take a chunk of those homes I guess maximum viewing figures will be way less than 2 million probably less than 1 million...in the UK it's just another unfunny no mark american "comedy"

It's a common TV-writer move to give a character a similar background (nationality, hometown, etc.) to the actor who plays them. Probably even more common in secondary characters like Danny.
