Watch Full Interview: • Teddy Atlas on Pulling...
Part 1: • Teddy Atlas on Trackin...
Part 3: • Teddy Atlas: Cus D'Ama...
--------
Teddy Atlas shared his past involvement in an armed robbery and the motivations behind his actions. He explained that, seeking attention from his father who seemed to only notice those in trouble, he acted recklessly to attract his father's gaze. Teddy confessed that he began taking selfish and dangerous actions that put him on the radar of the law. In his bid to fit in with his dangerous acquaintances, Teddy participated in a poorly executed robbery at a gas station and recalled the situation escalating when a worker spotted him, causing Teddy to fire a warning shot to ward him off. Although he didn't hurt anyone, Teddy faced time in Rikers Island for his actions. Reflecting on his past, Teddy admits to the harm caused by his selfish actions, acknowledging that his actions hurt more people than just himself.

Teddy Atlas is a real man’s man kinda dude. Forged to be a hard man. But, has humility and kind hearted in his soul. Speaks in a metaphorical way. When speaking on his past faults. Narrating beautifully through the word of fighting. I love the “WERE FIREMAN” speech he gave Timothy Bradley. It literally makes you wanna run through a brick wall.

Teddy Atlas speaks a lot about mental strength and he’s usually correct in his diagnosis of it because its clearly his understanding of his own mental fragility and insecurities which I don’t believe he has ever got over and it echoes in his critique and criticism of Mike Tyson which isn’t entirely invalid but also reflects his own psychological injuries which he seems fearful to speak about in its entirety

hell of an analysis!
@fadethechannel
@fadethechannel 8 месяцев назад
It can also give you a more myopic perspective if your critique is entirely in the frame of your own traumas. Your own experience can, will, and should inform your perspective but you also have to actively strive to overcome your own biases in order to offer a more objective perspective. Most people can’t do that because it’s tough to consider the realities of others from their point of view without always and only considering your own. It takes practice and an elevated self-awareness.

Teddy just happened to be an amazing boxing coach and highly intelligent in addition to being a thug.

Vlad is a horrible interviewer. How long was he at Rikers Island? Did his father ever come to visit him? We know he talked about how his father felt about his criminal lifestyle, how did is father feel when he finally went to prison? What was the adjustment to prison life like? How old was he when that happened? What did he do to change, if he changed when he got out of prison?
