Hello, thanks so much for this amazing pattern! Is so nice to see a bear that isn't so tiny like most amigurumi. I was wondering if you could tell me the brands of the cotton yarns you used, so I can get them as well? And secondly, if I was to use safety eyes instead, where on the head do you recommend placing them? Thanks again, and I can't wait to see what you come out with next for toys. Kathryn in Canada
@iuliiacraft
@iuliiacraft Год назад
Hello Kathryn! Thank you for your feedback. The brand of the cotton yarn I used for face (white one) is called Alize Bella 180m/50gr. The pink yarn for the feet and ears is called Fibra Nature 125m/50gr. And for the nose I used Yarn Art Lily cotton yarn 225m in 50gr. As for the safety eyes, you can try placing them between 12th and 13th rounds and leave 8 stitches between the safety eyes. I'd suggest use your best judgments and make sure you like the look before securing the eyes to the head and make adjustments if needed, as you might have a bit different tension than I had. Feel free to reach out if you'd have any other questions. You can also send me DM via Instagram @iuliia.craft Good luck! I'd love to see your Teddy. Iuliia

This bear is SO cute and your tutorial is very easy to follow for a beginner like me! I have already bought the Bernat yarn in two colours though, so I’m wondering if I can I replace the pink and white yarns you use for the feet, ears and face with another colour of Bernat wool like you used in the body, or will it not work if I do that? Thanks for your awesome tutorial!
@iuliiacraft
@iuliiacraft Год назад
Hi 💕 Thank you for your kind feedback 😊 Yes, of course, you can use the same Bernard brand yarn for the other parts (feet, ears, face). However, please use the smaller hook than your main one to crochet feet. In that way, feet won’t turn out bigger than they should be. Feel free to reach out if you’d have any questions and good luck with your Teddy ☺️ You can reach via instagram @iuliia.craft ❤️

Hello, I love the look of the Teddy so much, but it is too big for my purpose. Is there a way to make the Teddy smaller but with the proportions as you have?
@iuliiacraft
@iuliiacraft 2 года назад
Hi 👋🏻 ☺️ If you’d use thinner yarn (for example any cotton yarn) the bear will be smaller. I think that would be best you want smaller Teddy 🧸 You can also use smaller size of a hook and crochet tighter. Even with the yarn I used the work can be much tighter and it would lead to smaller Teddy.

Hi, i started with this project. I want just ask, if i use white himalaya instead of pink that you use, how much chain should i make? Like in pattern or less? If I make 10, would it be too big? I hope you understand my question and i hope i will get the answer. Thank you ❤️
@iuliiacraft
@iuliiacraft 2 года назад
Hi Matea👋🏻 I think you can use Himalaya dolphin baby yarn instead of cotton pink one. This yarn is almost the same as Bernat Baby velvet yarn that I used as my main colour. I would suggest to use a small hook though (like 2.5 mm) In this way you can start with 10 chains. If you’d like to use a hook 4.5 mm you should start with less chains. Unfortunately, it’s hard to tell how many chains would be better to start with without trying to crochet a leg. When you witch to the main colour (grey in a pattern), you’ll have to end up with 31 stitch at the end of round #3 otherwise you’ll not be able to follow the pattern. I hope it helps 😉

@iuliiacraft
@iuliiacraft Год назад
Hi ☺️👋 Thank you ❤️ When we crochet upper legs (paws) we started with 4 single crochet in a magic loop. After that we make 4 increase in every round till row 24 when we are done with increases. It means that in every round the number of stitches should increases by 4 stitches. It will look like that: 1) 4 2) 8 3) 12 4) 16 5) 20 So, you should get 12 stitches after third round and 16 stitched after the fourth one, as you have to make 4 increases that lead to additional 4 stitches. There is freewritten Feel free to let me know if you’d have any other questions ☺️

Shouldn't there be the same number of eyes at the end of the head as the body? 18? How is the connection made with the number of eyes in the head is 24 and in the body is 18? How is the connection between them made?
@iuliiacraft
@iuliiacraft 2 года назад
Hi 👋🏻 I finished the head with 24 stitches around on purpose. When I attached it to the body it was not wobbly compared to 18 stitches. Having 18 stitches at the body actually helped to have secure attachment. It worked very good for me 😉 However, if your work is tighter than mine you can stop at 24 stitches at both, a head and a body. I would not recommend to go for 18 stitches for both, the head and the body, though Good luck with your Teddy 🧸❤️

Can I please enquire as to the type or size of yarn you use for the pink yarn? I notice the hook is quite small and the yarn has to be doubled. So can I assume the yarn is very thin? Are you using lace or baby yarn?

Hi! Of course ☺️ I was using 100 % cotton yarn, 125m (136 yards) in 50 gr (1.75 oz) and a crochet hook 2.5mm. The yarn is quite thin and that’s why I used 2 laces of yarn. Name of the yarn: Fibra Natura Luxor

Hi Mirela! 👋🏻 Once you’ll fill the head with some stuffing it should have a sphere shape. Hi! I apologize for the confusion. In round #9 you have to crochet (1inc, 7SC) and repeat it 6 times. At the end you’ll have 54 stitches. On round 4 of the arm it say 16 st . And I end up with 18 . My last round 3 had 12 so I no that was right
@iuliiacraft
@iuliiacraft Год назад
For the arm you have to repeat a pattern of increases 4 times in each round. In round #3 you should end up with 12 stitches. Then, you have to repeat four times a pattern *1 Single Crochet, 2 Single Crochet in 1 Stitch (Increase), 1 Single Crochet*. Since you have to make 4 increases in round #4 your stitches should increase on 4 stitches at the end of the round, so the count should be 16, not 18. After that, you’ll be making 4 increases in rounds # 5 and 6 till you have 24 stitches in a round. I hope it helped.

@iuliiacraft
@iuliiacraft Год назад
Hi Caralee! If you started with the head and finished round #6 you should have 36 stitches in the round. If you have different count you might miss an increase. In every round from the round 2 to round 7 you should make 6 increases. I like to use a marker to keep an eye on the count. Also, I count stitches at the end of a round if I’m not sure I made all increases. If your count is correct at the end of round #6 you might have some issue with the tension. One round might be loose and the other one is a bit tight. In this case, I’d suggest to try following the same tension. You might need to start over a few rounds. I hope it helps 😉 Good luck with your project ❤️

Hi 👋🏻 For the head please follow rounds 1-9 with increases till you have 54 stitches in a round. After that continue without increases from round 10 to round 20. Then you’ll start making decreases. For the body you’ll have to crochet with increases from round 1 to 9 (same as for the head). Then, instead of crocheting from round 10 to 20 without increases or decreases, you should crochet ONLY till round 15. You’ll have to start making decreases in round 16. hi i am struggling with the stitch count on the arm between rows 3-5 and its driving me nuts i have done it over to many times to count and still cant get your stitch count. what am i doing wrong.
@iuliiacraft
@iuliiacraft Год назад
Hi! When you are making the arms you should make 4 increases in every round from round #2 to round #6 inclusive. At the end of round #3 you should have 12 stitches because you should make 1 increase by making 2 SC in 1 ST, then 1 SC and repeate this crochetting 4 times in the round. After that you should make another 4 increases in round #4 and end up with 16Stitches at the end. For that you should start with 1 SC in 1ST, them make 1 increase by making 2 SC in 1 ST and again make 1 SC. Again, you should repeate this pattern 4 times in this round. In the round #5 you should continue making 4 increases in a round and start with 3 SC in 3ST. After that you ahve to make 1 increase by crocheting 2 SC in 1 ST. You should repeate the pattern 4 times. At the end of the roun you should end up with 20 stitches. Usually, I use crochet marker and use it for the first stitc in a round. It helps me to count sttches and make sure I do not skip any stitches. Hopefully, this explanations helped you abit!

Can anyone tell me what this means: 1sc in 2half st and 1sc from 3half st????
@iuliiacraft
@iuliiacraft 2 года назад
Hi, those are invisible decreases. A regular stitch is in a « v » shape that has two halves. The one is closer to the right side of the work and the other is closer to the wrong side. Making decreases taking the stitch by the front halves of the loops makes the decrease less noticeable. 1sc in 2half st: ONE INVISIBLE DECREASE FROM 2 STITCHES it means that you have to make one decrease. Instead of picking up two stitches on the hook and crocheting them together, you have to pick up two front half of the stitches and crochet them together as one single crochet. 1sc from 3half st: ONE INVISIBLE DECREASE FROM 3 STITCHES it means that you have to make one decrease from 3 front halves of the stitches. You have to pick up 3 front halves of the stitches on the hook and crochet them as one single crochet to make one decrease. I hope it was helpful 🙂 Good luck with your project
