I don't think the song Paralyzed was on that list, but it's from this album and if you want to feel emotional then that song might just do the trick. It gets me every single time.

“I miss the days” needs to be on the list, brilliant song and relatable

The NF community is filled with mutual respect, care and love honestly, you shouldn't expect any less Teddy :)

Most of his song describe what it is like to live with complex trauma. Living on autopilot and just going through the motions of how you "should" live, but never really living. Depression is like a fog and the mix of anxiety can have you living in your mind (the mansion) and never in the present... so you miss it all (your asleep)

The list is probably correct. But I feel like you've been done a disservice due to the fact that the list is missing 2 songs which are SUCH hallmarks of NFs storytelling ability and depth. "Nate" and "Only - (with Sasha Sloan)". Even though they might not be a part of the journey, I'd recommend you doing them anyway. I'm 100% positive that they will floor you.

Also, I have to say this - and I will continue to say it every time it happens... whoever is dropping spoilers - ESPECIALLY to the most central & pivotal part of Nate's story - that being what happens with his mother - are not true members of the fan base. Doing that is the equivalent of taking someone to see a movie that you've already seen and right as the opening credits start rolling you tell them the plot twist. Anyone who dedicates their time to going through the Journey should be able to experience it as authentically & organically as those of us did who have been around since the Mansion album was released. Those people have robbed you of the full experience of walking this path. They only care about clout in the comments and are devoid of empathy. STOP IT.

I think the music video is getting at two people from opposite sides of the spectrum.. one seemingly being “successful” and the other being “poor” struggling with the same thing. I think Nate is trying to say that materialism isn’t what makes you happy. rich or poor, you can be blind to things that matter most and spend your life pursuing the things that won’t truly make you happy. love your honesty and appreciate your time! will be following your journey!

For me, this hit me a few years ago. I worked a job that I felt I needed because of being married and having 3 kids. I felt like I just had to be this other person all the time to let everyone around me know I was okay and help push myself through. I never felt like I got to be, ME. This song helped me pull myself out of that and open up and be myself a bit more and not what everyone expected me to be. This is when I woke up and started living my life more for me, not for everyone else.

Teddy after the song “change”, add “I miss the days” from the same album, that song has the most impressive vocals I’ve heard not from NF but in regards to his production!

NF will always dig in deep into feels. REAL MUSIC!!

One thing about NF, that he does SO well, is he can write a song that is about him or someone he knows, or his life, but he writes it in a way that he's almost telling US these things too. Like 'learn from my mistakes guys'. This song hits me because to me, this song is about our lives and how most of us just sort of numbly go through the motions of what's expected of us. Get a career, be a good wife/husband, do this, do that, like robots. We never ENJOY our life. We never look around and are present. We waste our lives. As always, wonderful and heartfelt reaction ♥

The journey are they core songs, but the rest of his discography is just as amazing. There’s so many songs not on “the journey” that are some of my favorites! Specifically Only, and I Miss The Days, I literally don’t understand how those aren’t on there

I as well never comment, but took one reaction of Teddy Grey to “Hope”, His reaction was in sync with my own and I as well wanted to go down NFs journey to learn more about his story! NFs talent, brilliant writing & musical skills are genius, reminds me of my son who just passed away in July at age 33! For the love of God and your mothers every single 30 year old please go get a full physical, get a full blood panel, no matter how healthy you have been or feel! My son knew he had health issues going on, tho he believed eating healthier; hiking and going to the gym would fix or reverse his issues, had a fight with his best friend the night before because he didn’t feel well; bf wanted to take him to ER for which he refused and said it was just probably something he ate and just wanted to go to bed! That best friend found him the next afternoon and has not been the same since from finding him, from not calling an ambulance when he refused (instead of getting angry with him, walking away and allowing him to ignore the signs he felt in his gut was not good) and the worst was having to notify me, hearing my dreadful; haunting & uncontrollable cry of screams (only a mother who just lost her child can haunt your soul) truly a mothers worst nightmare! Do not wish it upon anyone and all I can do is bring awareness to anyone at or over 30, can’t stress enough of the importance of a mandatory full physical, I had been telling my son almost 2 years to please go, 2 wks prior I seen a drastic change in his color and weight loss, begged him to go and in true adult child form says what you want to hear to get you off their case, however he never went, tho there is no way to know if 2 wks would have been enough to have save him for sure, the possibility & what ifs are still there & that he could possibly have still been alive today if he had of just listened and humored his mothers concerns (mothers intuition is REAL)! My son was a true musician, brilliant song writer, an amazing singer, guitar player and self made musical legend in his own right. Additionally he was what parents dream of hoping their son would turn out to be and more! Every person he met and came across in his life, he left an impression, made a positive impact on and all felt he was truly their best friend, but most of all their biggest influence and inspiration. As a mother, you believe your children are the best, but when you truly find out, see it and feel all that love from well over 300+ in person and several hundred more via social media, that’s when you really know you did something very very right in your life and did right by & for your children! Unfortunately it’s too late and as a single mother raising 4, those doubts are very loud! My son was my only son and my first born! He was literally my ride or die, we grew up together, he seen it all, the good the bad and the ugly, but rode it out with me like a boss and was the best big brother to 3 lil sisters! He & I sheltered my daughters from a lot, which honestly I now believe might have been a lil mistake, (I’m not say the should know full details, but should know more than they have been lead to believe) because they are polar opposites of he & I! Have been literally “taking care of” and supporting a grown ass man who chose to make our lives a living nightmare, literally walked away, signed over full custody for alcohol, drugs, women and thoughts of getting out of child support obligations, used his children as pawns in of spite for me, blamed me for everything because I left him, refused to leave our home for our children and I, while we were in a shelter, that he found out about and threatened to torch, for which the police immediately packed us up and escorted us out of the county! Stopped paying the mortgage & utilities, had to do an eviction and force quick sale to avoid foreclosure, forced to give him 1/2 the proceeds and change my last name, in order to get him to sign the divorce papers, stop harassment of false allegations, court filings and cops/cps calls in the middle of the night that would literally pound on our door, wake us from a dead sleep, place me in hand cuffs,separate and force my children to remove their clothing to prove non of them had been beaten or mistreated in any way! My son and I still can not understand how they do not remember all that or understand how they can literally blame me for everything that they lacked or couldn’t have like their friends, embarrassed by a Christmas church donation one year, free lunches and angry I worked 3 jobs to make ends meet, while their father literally fought me, dragged me thru the mud, to just write them off, then avoided child support by working under the table, continues to do so, then had the audacity (last year) to try and manipulate them, to get me to agree to “give the money back” if he were to actually get a real job now and they garnish his wages, “since it wouldn’t go to them now anyways!” A lot to unpack there and grasp, i know, but goes to show…. My son was literally a humble, caring GOOD MAN, in spite of his father, for himself, his sisters and I, who was an old soul, gifted and talented musician, who’s life was cut way too short and should have been bigger & known to the world, for his appreciation & love of music. A rare true musician of all genres, brilliant songwriter, talented singer, amazing guitarist (and 20 other instruments), with music in his soul. He was kind hearted, compassionate, inspiring, loving and always found the positive side of things, made everyone important, loved life & nature! In May he pulled off a 4 week residency, every Sat of the month to promote his new album Say Less, which also included 6-8 other local bands per night, w/2 stages, food/concession vendors, tattoo artists, used vinyl merch, well known “flower” sponsor, art & jewelry artist selling their art, half pike for the skaters, ice cream and churro stands, which got him on podcasts, mentioned on radio broadcasts & local music ent magazine and noticed by a large festival organization, who I quote told me “your son and I are going to do big things this next year, he is truly remarkable and pulled off something no one person could’ve or has ever done until now and it’s time he be recognized and known, total respect and a big thank you to you for bringing him into all our lives!” 😢 My son had made it, in his own way, with determination, passion, persistence, his own marketing, promoting, merch, non stop networking by collaborating with other local independent musicians/bands outside of the corporation politics and the music industry who has lost sight of true talent, my son was bringing it back along with his local respected musical friends and Desert Daze, for which he was a major part of for 11 yrs! All for the love of true artistry & love of music! ❤ He will be forever missed, but never forgotten and his music (5 albums) will live on! You have no idea how many written, unseen & unreleased songs he left behind, that may never be heard 😢 Anyways…. Teddy & NF, you are a part of the good ones in the music industry and deserve nothing but upmost love respect and support straight to the top! ❤ I’m forever a fan and plan to share. Peace, love & harmony to all thru music and kindness! Thank you all for listening and allowing my long grief stricken pride filled story, REMEMBER - GO GET A PHYSICAL (even if to just ease your mamas mind, she earned that much) since your 18th birthday, she has had to unlearn being a full time mom to a distant one and since you turned 21 for 9 yrs; less n less to allow you to live your life, which is not easy to do because to us, you’re always our child no matter your age. Just do it (age 30 mandatory, then every 5 yrs there after is standard, any MD can confirm it’s really not just a mama thing) 🙏🏻 ✌️ ❤ 🎶

Great thing to remember when reacting to him, he personifies each of his emotions. They all live in his mind (mansion) and wile in black he is usually talking to them. Cant wait foe this new White Nate. I watched him before lockdown in Berlin, absolute fire gig... doubt id get to watch him in such a small venue these days.

They are on opposite sides of the economic spectrum, so their lives couldn't appear more different on the outside looking in, but they feel the exact same way inside.

Also, I always interpreted this track to be speaking to us who constantly distract ourselves in life with frivolous things and distractions but don't take time to wake up and smell the roses of life. Find true passions. Find joy with family and friends. Live for others and give service outside of ourselves. It's a lot easier to live life to it's fullest when we're living right and not bogged down by distractions/addictions/time wasters.

Also Paralyzed and Lie for sure! Definitely listen to all of his songs though even if they aren't on the list.

This song is about people believing that other people's lives are perfect, looking at eachothers "mansions" from the outside while they are struggling and breaking stuff on the inside.

It's obvious you're going to pick up on many parts of the journey very easily. I also love seeing the support from the fan base ❤ *and now.... onward*

This song was just about not being caught up in things and troubles of life. From the perspective of the rich and the poor. This song was the first song he made as an example to capitol records before he was signed. This isn't about his Mum or him. It's kinda his heart towards people as he wants them to be real in life and wake up to reality

I don't think he intended it this way, but interestingly enough the second verse fits NF where he was at around the time he wrote this song and the first verse actually fits him during the time of "The Search" album.

I've been listening to NF since Perception (2017), and I don't think I've seen this music video before... Heard the song multiple times, but had no idea it might be about his mother until now.

The journey is just really so you don’t miss the little things he has in his videos or songs that reference back to old songs and videos. And really it’s cool to see him go through so much and end up on top with Hope. 🥰 some songs won’t hit you and others you’ll relate to so much you’ll wonder if he lives in your head

I think this is a better list. Honestly though, I'd be grateful for whichever songs of nf you react to.
