Just saw TTB live a couple of weeks ago. The trombone player could be leading the Mardi Gras parade in New Orleans with all the soul and sass of her playing.
Superb rendition of “Sweet Virginia” by the Tedeschi Trucks Band with the Wood Brothers. That trombone solo was excellent, and Derek Trucks killed it on his slide guitar. Mick and Keith would be very impressed. I sure was.
My good friend Mark Stead first turned me onto Susan's second album in like 1998 and I loved her of course. Mark was a great drummer, we were in a band together at the time. A few years later Derek married her and at that time Mark and I were working together full time 40 hours a week. We talked music for hours every day. He said "Just wait until they start a band together.". In November of 2005 Mark was killed in a car accident coming home from a gig. Within a week of the first TTB Album I went and played it at his grave site. He Knew they would be special.
These guys do the Stones very best song ever... even better - This is Mozart and Beethoven in ONE --- I'm so in awe and happy - am going to forward this vid to a much younger nephew --- who is very gifted on the Guitar...
Brilliant as always T&T band. Excellent work by all and yes that trombone is great. BUT when Derek comes in for his solo ,man that lifts it to a whole other level. I love the Stones and this is one of my favorite tracks by them. You Guys did it a major service. Cheers.
Charlie Watts you nailed what he did, unknown until now when Steve Jordon is playing that's what's missing "That Drunken Tempo Sway" No one could duplicate it !
85 people.....I don’t even have words for how completely dead in the inside you have to be to dislike a groove like this....pity and that’s it....for the 85 half deaf folks....good luck.
Oh my God this is so sweet!! Thank you so much for uploading this precious gem. This is what I like most about TTB. They play with other fine musicians, and cover many, many of those songs which make me feel like the hippie age will never die. And they do so with any temper-mental egoism of so many super stars? They be down to Earth like salt. LOVE TTB pray they stick around another thirty years. I'm working in Europe and haven't even caught them once. Please God please. Peace.
Great rendition of one off of my favorite Rolling Stones albums(Exile On Main Street). I love the trombone solo in there. Slick slide and harmonies too.
Elizabeth Lea..... that girl can play that "bone" for sure... such a talented lady.....I just love her to death.... and think she is so underated... she always looks to be enjoying herself... which in turns makes me happy... Thank you Liz.... for bringing your happiness into my life...
Just got off of work, pretty tough day. Decided to have a brew and chill while I wait for my sweet lady to come home. I’m making spaghetti with meat balls for dinner but that can wait.
Please PLEASE please don't get so cool you won't come us in Rochester NY....We Love Your Music So Much....Clapton gave up....Robert Cray Didn't....oh yeah, SRV didn't have a chance to give up.
We should all hope we can rock and roll like the Stones when we get to be that age. They have outlived, out-rocked and out-partied a whole lot of their peers and they still keep rollin'
I do not know who is in charge, but Tedeschi is Super Bowl halftime entertainment. I am sick of all the slick acts they chose. We need some down-home music, not all the glitzy garbage they have forced on us.
