My quote, "We have created a monstrous pile of words/thoughts whereof they mean nothing; reality necessitates them not; the universe marches to a different drum". Gordon was touched by the wildness of place..

Thank you Gordon, I knew there was a reason I fell in love with Olympic national park and why we become so anxious when surrounded by artificial sounds. I seek silence, thank you for recording it.

Immensely intriguing! I wonder what type of binaural mics he uses. The Thunderspace iPhone app brought me here.

This is real spirituality - the connectedness to Nature - going back home. If you listen closely to a bird's song, you can hear God in it. God, not as a person with voice, but as the energy that's behind everything in existence.

Anyone understand the chart? Never really explained well - and definitely not shown long enough.

It's called the Fletcher-Munson curves, basically our human hearing is gradually less sensitive the closer it gets to the lower and higher frequency threshold, so we need more "sound volume" on those extreme frequencies so the perceived loudness can be the same as the range we are biologically "tuned" to. In other words, we can hear more easily quiet noises on the 2k-5kHz range, because they are so crucial to our survival in the wild.

Nos EUA não se ouve nenhuma melodia. Tudo desmatado. Esse palestrante não passa nenhuma emoção, diferente de Bern Krause.

This guy wants to preserve sound / forest etc.... As he eats steak with his kids. Hmmmmmm.... Meat industry biggest cause for deforestation. What a goof.
