About TEDx, x = independently organized event
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

Another great talk with Mikko, but poor choice of venue. TEDx should be about the intimate level of conversations, not a huge concert hall.

Privacy is already a thing of the past. Maybe some totalitarian effort of intellectual and technological repression in the recent past could have saved it, but by now it is too late. The technology is commercially available. Think about it like this: if we were serious about preventing these technologies from being used, then what practical measures would we have to undertake to make that happen? For one thing, cameras are now small enough to fit into almost any piece of clothing, including a pair of glasses. At least one person has a camera built into his eye. If the guy in the cubicle next to you wanted to film you, and had a few days and a few thousand dollars to prepare, then to what lengths would you have to go to stop him? If your employer were concerned that someone in the company might be catching company secrets on camera, and he wanted to be sure that no one can do that, then what would he have to do? It gets even worse with IT and signal tracing. It might not be possible with any measure short of shutting down the Internet. Privacy is a thing of the past, because the costs of protecting it are prohibitively high. The next best option is sousveillance. Let's just accept that it's going to happen as a matter of inevitability, and make the transition to a society where everyone watches everyone an intelligent one.
