Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see. Being deaf does not make you dumb, just as being able to hear does not make you smart. Never make fun of or treat someone differently in a bad way just because they don’t have what you have instead encourage them and include them because at the end of the day they are human just like you.
My moms a real estate agent that sells for deaf people and I made her new motto “Can you hear your house calling, No? Let us help, Keller Williams Real Estate.
As a deaf person myself, I would like to extebd a thank you to dhar mann for yhis video. It exemplifies what everyone in the deaf community go through everyday in their lives. The bullying should end! Always trying to communicate with people is difficult enough. We don't need people making it worst with things like bullying. We need people to make it better by putting themselves in our shoes and seeing what its like for people like us. Thanks again Dhar! Means alot that you go out of your way to teach people this lesson. Also, I LOVE how everyone was communicating in our way by the middle of this video. It really went well. ❤😊❤ Thank you so much for the likes and the comments. I thought I'd explain the reason for my deafness. I was born with Kernicterus and became deaf a few days later. The only reason we found out was because my mom accidentally dropped something really loud on the ground and came to me only to see I never reacted. She then took me to the emergency room because at the time, my birth country was never really aware of deaf people. So I don't know if I was born deaf or when I became deaf but I was sick first. I was actually BORN jaundiced and with Kernicterus.
@@actresszone1144 It doesn’t really work like that, i am deaf as well and my condition is one of many that can’t be fixed through operation or medicine 😕 I am stuck using hearing aids until i’m completely deaf. But it would be nice if it worked for everyone tho! 😁
Thank you so much Dhar! I learned ASL in high school, and we had a day in school called "silent day" where ASL students were only allowed to communicate with ASL for a whole day. I found it very interesting to learn what it's like to go through a normal school day where most people don't understand what you're saying, it was quite thr struggle, but it was cool getting to teach some sign to my friends as well as other classmates. Thanks for the amazing message! Really hits home 😊😊
I have have a brother and a sister that are both hard of hearing, so I can relate to the deaf culture. Thank-you so much for making this video Dhar Mann, it means alot ❤️
As a hard of hearing person, this had inspired me and made me smile, I love how Nico’s friends stood up for him and had a plan for Evan to learn his lesson. Very fascinating work, Dhar!
Deaf people are still people and they must be treated equally. Dhar Mann I am sure you are changing many lives by sharing positivity on your channel. God bless you and your team
That was a great lesson and message about being kind, respectful and empathetic. You continue to inspire us to be better people, Dhar Mann. Thank you so much!
I have a deaf coworker and I feel bad for him everyday. I can't imagine the inner struggles he has to go through everyday not just on the outside dealing with others but on the inside as well with emotions and all.
You should never make fun of others for what they don't have. Instead be grateful and treat others with respect. Just because someone can't see or not hear doesn't make them dumb but kindness can go a long way.
I’m deaf person, thank you for including our experience. It touch my heart and make me cry. Thank you for inspiring everyone can know what deaf person go through.
As a hard-of-hearing person, there are challenges in the job you don't get interpreters at the job only on meetings and you have to know what you doing, for me I had to go to college to know what position I will be able to fit in. I work for the School district in my town as Para Online Speech Aid Facilitator and I love my job. I love your videos!
@Harry is hard but if you open up and tell them that u hard they take note of that I had a phone install in the room and everyone uncover thier face so I can understand what they trying to tell me even some students know actually the whole school is very nice to work in a good environment. I'm sorry about the bullies it does hurt and I have experience that myself but I thought myself not to give up just because I'm hard of hearing. My Dad always encouraged me to do my best 🥰🙏.
I’m extremely hard of hearing. I can’t hear much without my hearing aids. I really appreciate you including us in this story Dhar. Also, thank you for including sub titles right on your videos too. It really means alot! Thank you!
This made me so emotional because I relate to it so much! I feel like the deaf and hard of hearing community isint talked about as much as other disibilities out there so im very glad that there is a video on here! I really hope you make more in the future to spread awareness because this could be the first step of not keeping us in the dark! I have not seen any other videos like this for us but hopefully there will be more soon!
Evan reminds me of Draco Malfoy. People that have these kind of problems need to be treated just like people without these problems. They can’t help these problems. “Were not just telling stories, we’re changing lives” I love your videos Dhar!!😊😊
I used to watch videos like these and in the past I would get triggered because it would bring back memories of how I was bullied. But now I think I'm coming to realize that it's great that there is more awareness being raised to people with disabilities and it really warms my heart. This community really truly is changing lives.
I guess it’s the right intent, but this is not realistic. I doubt a whole entire school would actually go silent just for one bully. A class maybe, but the whole school is bs. Like how do you teach 900 people sign in a day. Plus, in real life, they probably would’ve just suspended the bully. I’ve seen blind and deaf people in school, and nobody ever messes with them.
In my school, the teachers despise other students being mistreated for something their born with, so they made a separate part of the school just for deaf, blind or any other deasease. And no other student can see them, but deaf people can play with other people and ect. I think its a pretty good idea!
At my school they act like they care but it's obvious they don't. "I'll take care of it!" Nothing. "I'll talk to them!" Never happened. If they do something they just give them blank threats. "You'll be suspended if you do this again." The bully did it 5 more times before finally being suspended(if your lucky)! Plus, my old teacher hated me because I was the mean girl. Uh, no I wasn't. I punched a kid in the face to get him off of me when he tried to choke me!!! I am never trusted. Besides, my school team(we are divided by teams. 3 for each grade.) is known as the worst team in the whole 7th grade. With kids stealing things, hurting kids, getting into fights, calling each other names, swearing, rumors, death threats, and not listening. Our opposite team(The 8th grade team) is the exact opposite. The angelic team. All the teachers did was call one team meeting to "discuss" what we were getting ourselves into. AKA they screamed at us, and said none of us would have a successful life if we didn't get our act together and they would tell the 8th grade teachers to keep a hawk eye on us next year. Fun fact: Out of the 102 students on team 7-2(my team) I have only seen 11 students actively fight. Swearing is normal at my school but the teachers are trying to stop it. Only 4 boys actually steal things. Around 20 kids hurt kids but its never purposed, they are just rough housing. Every team has rumors and all of the rumors that have to do with our team aren't set by us, usually it's team 7-3. Kids call each other names as a joke. Kids that don't listen to the teacher usually are doing other work or are actually listening they just don't look like it. "So you see", the teachers are ok ruining are lives for next year even though a lot of us don't even witness it and are confused. Your lucky. The teachers at my school also treat special needs kids like they aren't. Like getting in trouble for not doing they're work quick enough because of they're special need.
@@V-H-S-q3n Same, the special ed teachers abused the kids they were taking care of and the kids mocked and bullied them. They were given a small playground in a cage. It felt like as if they were zoo animals. I felt so bad. This was in my old elementary school btw.
@@sweetxsalty4214 As adults it doesn't get any better. We must unite to develop a civil rights movement to challenge it NOW. Less we leave it to the next generation to solve our problems for us.
I dunno when I was in school they mainstreamed me. I’m legally blind and I took honors and AP (Advanced Placement) classes from 6th through 12th grade. But kids fed bullied me for being legally blind….they would take my white cane, put gum in the key hole for my locker….I had trouble using combination locks so I used a key lock to unlock and lock my locker and they’d put gum in the key hole so I couldn’t get my books….so from 6th through 12th grade I carried all of my large print books….I had two sets of large print books one set at home and one set at school I also used large print paper to write notes and I had notebooks for each subject so I had a huge backpack I carried every day….In gym class kids put gum in that key hole too so I couldn’t change cloths from my gym clothes to regular clothes and they tried to give me swirly’s and everything. Eventually they took me out of PE because it was just too much bullying…. But as an adult I mean I get there were problems with kids bullying me and the school didn’t do anything. I mean I have my MBA now with a concentration in Data Analytics I love math and science!! But I mean kids in school were crazy and the school didn’t do anything we’d tell the principal and he’d just say “boys will be boys” and my mom was like ummm No that’s not gonna work…. I just feel like all you can do is fight back and stand up for yourself. I don’t think putting me in a separate part of the school would’ve been good since it taught me to stand up for myself I mean being bullied was annoying but I loved my honors and AP classes especially Calculus, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science etc.
Happy to see a video about ableist bullying. I went through a lot in school. A dance team coach even frequently referred to me as "the team cripple," which is extremely offensive and a disability slur. Thanks for showing everyone what it looks like to make school more accessible for a student with a disability. Although, in the US at least, Nico could have gotten a translator in his 504 if the school could afford it, and he could have petitioned the school board for the funding for an interpreter because he has the right to accessibility in the school. Disabled rights matter.
@PiXie BeRRie I have to deal with abliest everyday I have a speech delay and I am not the best at talking and coumminting and kids would be mean to me and think that I was really dumb and they called me a retard one time and I can't control it and also a kid said that I was cursed by god and it made me feel like that I was less smarter than everyone else but jokes on them I am smart and get good grades they just never took the time to listen to me and just judge me base on a disabilty that I could't control
i love dhar mann so much. i have spent over 1000 hours watching his videos on repeat. they are so inspirational. every time there is a new video my toes curl up to the point where the blood circulation is cut off.
I feel so glad they taught him a lesson because as someone who is training to get my degree to be an ASL interpreter so I can make the world a better place
This is such a true story.. the other day I saw an African American who is deaf getting bullied. He was blind as well. We should all treat each other equally no matter of or race, size, gender, or special needs. God bless to anyone reading this!
Love your videos, Dhar Mann! I will have you know that I am deaf. I lost my hearing when I was 5 years old due to disease. I am the only one who is deaf in my family and I know how it feels to be deaf. I can read, write and speak English and I am fluent in ASL. This new video will cause me to chuckle when that hearing teen was enrolled to a deaf school while struggling to speak to everyone. This title should be “Hearing Teen makes fun of Deaf School and lives to regret it.” We’re not just telling telling stories, we’re changing lives.
And this y I love deaf people, they are always kind to other even if they don’t know them/they just met them like 5 seconds ago, and there’s no talking- so no need to hear someone talking, just peace and quiet with a human. I’m talking asl at my school to understand them so I can communicate with them, they really do seem like cool people!
After watching the trailer however it turns out that the whole school was deaf not actually the kid himself. Generally I was quite confused to as why the whole school seemed to be not noticing the kids presence around them. I cannot wait to see how this one would end, would he eventually get noticed or not. Thanks for uploading again Dhar Mann ❤️
Pffft as a deaf person who has had a documentary on him I find this quite funny people cry when they see my documentary and I don't understand just a disability not that deep.
@@freddymenton353 to you it might not be that deep but to others it’s very deep. Please don’t make fun of this person for crying or wanting to cry because you don’t know how much words hurt.
Even when you're tired, keep going. Even when you're lonely, keep going. Even when you feel like you can't go any further, keep going. It is in those moments where you gain the reason why you must keep going.🙏🏽💪🏽
Good one, Dhar Mann! Good one!😁🤗😊 "You should never judge someone unless you've walked in their shoes." Because you NEVER know what they could be going through. Especially if they have any disability!
FUN FACT: Members of the Deaf Community do not consider themselves disabled, but very much abled. They just can't hear. I'm an interpreter and all of my kids sign. When my son dated a Deaf girl, I remember asking her, "Do you want to hear?" Her response? "No, I'm fine" and she was/is. She is not works as a professional in one of the public schools. As I. King Jordan said, "Deaf people can do anything except hear."
Lesson Learned: Do not judge someone unless you have walked in their shoes. Nice video Dhar and hopefully this reminds everybody that having a disability is not easy and that certainly are trying he's/her best to be able to communicate with us even though they have a problem.
I have autism. Ive been bullied because I think differently. My mother taught me and raised to treat others how I wish to be treated as she knows how it feels to be bullied as she has a physical disability. Karma is a real energy of the universe. Karma never ever forgets even you may have had forgotten. As my mother believes she is been punished for the sins of my grandmothers choices as she admitted to my mother that she was a bully in high school. My mother was furious. My mother has a club foot. Karma will punish bullies to live liked those whom have no choice to live with thier disabilities.
As a deaf person, it hurts us a lot, but it doesn’t make us any different just because a disability makes you any less of a person doesn’t mean you’re different, we are all people and need to respect one and another
Love the video brought tears 😢 😭 to my heart ❤️ love how he finally understood what Nico was going through. A true saying if you have not walked in someone shoes you can't judge
The ending made me almost cry. Dhar, these videos you make have great meanings, I appreciate what you and everyone at the studio for their and your hard work.
Something I noticed was in the part where Nico is sitting in the back of class. When he is signing "Can I move to the front?" When he first signs "Can i", you can hear him actually whisper it. Its at 1:48 if you want to find it. You need to turn up your volume so you can hear it.
This is so creative and I love that everyone in the school took the time to actually learn sign language. It 1, makes the new guy feel welcome and 2, teaches the bully a lesson. That’s dedication
Yes, but what they did by plugging their ears for a day is not good. Isolating someone like that, regardless of what they have done, can have serious consequences.
wow i’m so glad that whoever created this video didn’t use a “mean girl” or “queen bee or “spoiled rotten” character for once they used a boy character.😂
This video teaches all of us to be kind to all people including the deaf 🧏♀️ because it’s not their fault at all. My mom is learning sign language 🤟 and it is so commendable what she is doing. I respect ✊ everyone deaf 🧏♀️ or not.
I am originally deaf and mute. I am fluency sign language and education. A inspirational story video. There was great lesson about being deaf kind, respect, empathetic. Thank you so much *Dhar Mann*
This video is so spot on! I have a friend named Haylee who's parents are deaf and I know a few things in sign language such as "friend". Great job, Dhar! Never make fun of someone who is deaf.
Thank you Dhar Mann for the lesson taught that this young boy clearly needed to learn and finally did. But honestly, I think that I would struggle with sign language for quite a while too unless I could get a really big book showing how to "sign" what I was wanting to say. How would you be able to tell someone what day it is or what's today's date? Could you say that in sign language or would you just have to write it down instead of speaking it?
You could say it in sign language. It’s quite easy to say that actually(maybe just because I have deaf parents). I wish I could tell you how to say it through a comment.
Well then what a crazy yet inspirational video. I actually served a deaf person and oh my goodness no joke they are so sweet I even gave them a free ice cream❤️ we just have to learn to adapt to ppls lives and not tease them
Hey there Dhar man, I just wanted to thank you for this video. This also kinda brings memories back when I was in school, I was friends with a deaf boy and I thought maybe I should learn to help deaf people and I have a lot.
That was really inspiring dharr. There’s been a deaf kid in my school and plenty of people were picking on him. It not even’s fault he’a deaf. Can anyone relate?
