I have this disease. After 6 surgeries I am currently in remission. This is a very hard disease to deal with. No cure and so painful.

I know you think it can not be cured. and as of today that may be the case. I was told by my doctor that the reason they do not have either a cure or a better way of treating it is that it is not a well known disease and drug companies do not want to find something to help it as it is not going to make them money. I just recently got a new doctor and when I told her what I have she looked at me funny and said. hmm I never heard of that. :( I felt defeated.

well, she clearly doesn't have acne, so calling it "pimples" in the beginning of the video is extremely misleading. this is an entirely different case altogether, there, doctors.

it's hidradenitis suppurativa which is causing boils and Deep-acne like cysts. If you googled her condition you would see that it causing scaring. It's most common under the arms and along the bikini area

and i'm not saying that she doesn't have hildadenitis - i'm simply saying that i came into this thinking she had a bad case of acne. which is the farthest from the truth. a pimple is not a cyst or boil. i watched the video - i know what her condition unfortunately does to her. just pointing out how misleading it is to classify her as having "acne", when it is in fact a much more severe case.

Its not negligence Jennifer. Parents only do what they think is in their kids best interests. They don't want to go to the Drs since its not free in the US so maybe they thought it was just a bad breakout from puberty. Also, maybe she was not complaining which is why she wasn't being taken to the ER immediately.

Its a disease that doesnt come to "light" until puberity and once it does it can go really quickly and spread a lot or it can take years for it to spread. Its different from person to person. Doesnt mean her parents didnt help her out.

My boyfriend has a severe case of HS. Doctors actually used his case in medical education books. The condition covers his entire body, every inch of it. I truly hope they find a cure for the condition. I've seen first hand the pain and turmoil it causes, and she's right, the medications they prescribe don't work. My boyfriend has had around 20 surgeries. I'm so happy to see that this girl is getting help.

me too. People just don't see the fight that we go through. This disease used to be thought of as rare now it's obvious it's not. So many FB support groups prove that. I've been dealing with this since I was her age. What saddens me is yes, I feel her pain but I can't imagine people that I don't know being able to see all my scarring. I really hope the more people hear about this the more we have a chance at a cure.

Poor kid. This may sound crazy. But she should try a Ketogenic / low carb diet. Carbohydrates feed inflammation and bacteria, and even cancer. She has nothing to loose. Poor sweet thing.

Her parents didn't know. She was hiding it for some time. He saw rags with pusblood. thats when he took her to the doctor. The scars can be fixed with surgery.

I stumbled on this video on accident. Its a very emotional video. I'm glad she is getting the help she needs at a young age. 1st. Where is the real mom in this, how come no one is asking about the real mom? 2nd. Both daddy and step mom are really young. 3rd. Daddy Alfredo looks really sexy.. No wonder his woman really young. 4rd. Daddy Alfredo doing this for his daughter makes him more appealing. 5th. I envy his woman.
