Damn wrong on "betting fans just walked out once they heard the Japanese intro for more chill, funny and relaxing episodes." 1. Most kids surpisingly couldn't tell the difference. 2. Teen Titans was a show never to turned down on 😂.

Lol, the Tournament of Heroines probably ended immediately because raven noticed the magic right away and her and starfire NOT having an ego issue.

Slade is definitely one of the best cartoon villains ever. Not only is he physically tough but he can get in you're head.

Really wish we could have seen a little more episodes of Terra within the group. I always felt her betrayal and overall story arc was a bit rushed.

Cyborg is basically having to haul around many pounds worth of metal, I'd assume he'd need more fuel to carry his weight around, and that's not counting running around, fighting, and if his sonic blasts require any energy from him that isn't synthetic electricity.

Also Terra was originally a villain straight up. DC bent over backwards retconning Terra like 50 times to make her the victim and Deathstroke the sole villain. Also they slept together. 15 year old terra and 50 something year old Deathstroke.

Speedy's name always bothered me because you would presume a name like that that hes the sidekick to Flash, but nope Green Arrow!

Speedy is just robin with arrows no joke speedy is a literal trust fund brat and ward to green arrow, who like batman is also a trust fun kid, and their big superpower is beingable to shoot a bow.

Man, episode 10 was heavy, especially in the end. I felt bad for Beast Boy and Terra.

Looking back i really wish they'd done more episodes with Terra as a team member. 2 or 3 maybe. Like, imagine we get to see her going on their usual adventures with the Titans. Fighting baddies and working as a unit. Building friendships and having real fun and you grow as attached to her as they do. And then it all gets ripped away and you feel just as betrayed. Great show this arc just always felt a bit rushed to me.

As it happens there was a Teen Titans fighting game... a flash game. It was pretty good, but it's hard to find nowadays since flash is dead. Play it if you can.

Speedy is indeed from Green Arrow, he is the Robin equivalent though there's not as many Speedys. This Speedy is Roy Harper, most of his origins involve being orphaned and raised by Native Americans who taught him archery. Like Dick would become Nightwing and sometimes Batman, Roy would leave the mantle to become Arsenal and then Red Arrow. Sadly Speedys get a rough gig; Roy had an arc where he fell into drug addiction, his successor Mia Dearden is HIV-Positive. I do have to admit though, this style of tournament arcs from Western shows never appealed to me, because often you can tell the final two early, the prelims lacked interest, and you could clock on who would be the 'surprise loser'. Beast Boy not being able to transform into a bird after previously being a bat felt like a cheat, especially when next episode he is throwing down with Slade, and no I'm still not over the TMNT 2003 tournament ¬_¬ So we get to the Tera turn, working for Slade the whole time. Of course it was a big deal in the comics, perhaps one of Teen Titans' more famous storylines with the arc being called 'The Judas Contract'. There was...problematic elements between Tera and Slade's _dynamic_ and Terra was a lot more unhinged, the reason Slade was going after the Titans in the comics was because it was a contract his son, Grant aka Ravager, took when acquiring enhancements but died from said enhancements so Slade wanted to finish the job. The arc involved Slade's other son Joseph aka Jericho joining with Nightwing to save the other Titans.

Deathstroke/Slade being able to fight the Titans was always wild to me. He’s basically evil ninja captain America with instant reaction time and pseudo-precognition. I get him being a Robin/Nightwing/Batman villain. But I don’t get how he fights characters like Raven, Starfire, Kid Flash, Superboy, Cyborg, etc. In the comics his son joins the Teen Titans and is killed on a mission (I think he was a double agent anyway). So Slade decides to ‘finish his son’s mission’ and becomes obsessed with the Titans for a while. Think the og group he was obsessed with was Robin (this one), Donna (Wonder Girl), Aqualad, Speedy and Kid Flash.

Speedy has one of the craziers story lines.. I mean CRAZY story line. Roy Harper is one of my favorite characters EVER.

Man the betrayal episode still breaks my heart and just really feel for BB. Also yeh spade is a menace and BOI knowing the background of the comics makes this all more uncomfortable if you know, you know. Also I really would of loved to played a VS teen titans beat them up games cause I would be playing it for hours 😂

(At 2:52) Yes, he's the Crimson Archer, The apprentice of the Emerald Archer. So 3 of the founding Teen Titans are on this episode.

Ps2 game was a 3d beat em up that did have a versus mode and you could play the story in multiplayer so if you guys are fixin to play the teen titans game emulation is available for it and it runs pretty good.

The reason Slade is so obsessed with the Titans is due to his son Grant Wilson aka Ravager's death. Grant was hired by the HIVE (the organization Jinx, Gizmo, and Mammoth are from at the start of the series) to destroy the Titans. Grant provoked a fight with Titans but due to the genetic modification he went through he had a heart attack and died fighting them. Slade then picked up his son's contract to avenge him which is where the story kicks off in the show. That's why Slade had the HIVE attack the Titans at the start of the series to send a message to them. Which eventually leads us to this point which I believe in the comics is referred to the Judas Contract. That said Slade obsession with Robin is fueled by something entirely different. I can't say for sure but I think it has to do with his connection to Batman and Batman's connection with the League of Assassins as in some incarnations Slade was supposed to be the next head but was passed over for Batman, but I could be wrong about that. Too many retcons and universes in DC to keep up with for a casual like me lol.

Also, Beast Boy is Vegetarian, not Vegan. So he will consume dairy products, he just doesnt eat meat because he's been the animals most people eat. He says that in episode 1; Cyborg asks him at the pizza place "how are you gonna deny me the all meat experience?" to which Beast Boy responded "Dood! I've BEEN most of those animals"

The tournament of heroes is totally one of my top fave episodes from season 2. I love fighting games so this episode gave me those vibes 😆 But I am still so freaking confused and wondering how the master of games came back after getting defeated, like how and why???? 🤔 Also i agree! It's a shame we didn't got a part 2 of the tournament of heroes, i would've loved to see starfire, raven and terra fighting against other girl heroes 😭

In fairness to Terra while she did something awful she is also a scared, insecure teenager who was given the solution to her greatest fear by Slade who then took advantage of that gratitude to gaslight, threaten and manipulate her into thinking she had to help him.

If the PS2 game is the same as the GameCube one, it's a 3D beat-em-up with up to 4 player co-op, starring the main 5 titans in a story that I'm pretty sure is original. There's also a versus mode that features most, if not all of the characters from the show, letting you fight your friends as your favorite characters. My memory on it may be a little foggy as I haven't played it in forever but it was a favorite of mine in my early childhood, and watching you all react to the show makes me wish I still had my copy to revisit.

Just reminding you all the Master of Games; same VA of Darkwing Duck, Winnie the Pooh, Pete the Cat, and any other classic Disney childhood characters

Never underestimate Slade's ability to get into your head, NEVER He got into Robin's head throughout season 1 to the point where Robin became so hell-bent and paranoid that everyone, including himself kept comparing him to Slade He got into Terra's head, convincing her that she needed him in order to control her own powers so bad that he managed to make her betray the Titans for it And he got into BB's head on the ferris wheel so quick in order to keep him angry enough to continue the fight rather than escape with Terra (I really don't think that he chose to attack Slade over taking Terra's hand because he didn't trust her, his anger at Slade simply won out, there's no reason why he should've given Slade's words even just the benefit of a doubt and he kept not believing a word until Terra confirmed it in the house of mirrors) And that's only the things we've seen up to this point

Slade is physically enhanced. He was the subject of a government experiment. He is a super soldier. In the comics, his relationship with Tera is MUCH worse. He is a groomer. They actually have a physical relationship. Remembering that in the comics Tera is still a teenager. In the past, some comic book writers had a bad habit of unnecessarily giving abusive and problematic characteristics to characters that didn't make any sense to them. It was something like "since he's a villain he shouldn't have any scruples and limits. Doctor Light also went through this, he suffered a retcom that turned the character into a rapist. The writers did it more for the shock and just because they could.

The Teen Titans game on PS2 is an up to 4 player co-op beat em up. I loved it as a kid. It's not that complex but your moves keep getting upgraded and that keeps things interesting imo. It's just kinda mindless fun. The lack of complexity is the main reason it was given really poor scores. It was compared to a bunch of other similar games at the time. I was looking through the review scores of every PS2 game recently and honestly a lot of them are pretty baffling. Critics were very overly critical compared to how they are today. I think the fact that you get to play as each Titan and they each do different things is cool enough to carry you through the game.

The teen Titans game I played on the original Xbox was so much fun! I played that game over and over again. Yes there was fighting and it involved the original voice actors which made it better ❤😃👊🏾

Before anyone thinks Terra's unforgivable, remember she's being manipulated. Last season, Robin betrayed the team TWICE, and was only being manipulated once. So all I'm saying is she gets one intentional betrayal or at least two more manipulated ones because that's just fair.
