I really like how they have to stand to greet the Headmaster whenever he comes into their class and refer to him as “sir”. Proper discipline and manners.

You can’t help kids like this, you have to let life run it’s course and let them ruin their life. Only so much help you can give them.

His mum basically sets no boundaries at home so he thinks he's in charge and king of the world. So when he goes to school he's still under the impression he can do what he wants and his actions have no consequences, and when people tell him off he can't comprehend why people keep telling him off and thinks he's being attacked so he lashes at really quickly when people try tell him what to do. He needs his mum to put more effort into disciplining him and take a stand, and be very consistent. This is probably really hard for her because she's a single mum with a ton of responsibilities, but that is the only thing that will work. Teachers all too often look at the kid and just tell him, "You need to good now yeah. Stop being naughty. Be a different kid now." And its all just hot air, his natural conscience which indicates our brain how to behave hasn't being nurtured properly and he can't change it by just being asked to.

something here stood out to me the same way it did when i was in school. the teachers focus on the wrong thing. the teacher was listening to a student tell him how he felt he was being picked on by teachers, and the only thing the teacher commented on was “his name is mr chambers, not just chambers”. they don’t talk to us about the right thing, and in this situation, was just telling off (though lightly) and already distressed kid. doesn’t matter what the kid did or didn’t do, if they’re distressed and you only pick up on something not even relevant, it’s going to do nothing but impact them negatively, because you’re not helping.
