Steve Mahon was a huge influence on me becoming a Bassist. Without his relentless vicious attack of his rockabilly style, Teenage Head wouldn’t be the same. Wicked groove. One of the best Bass players in the World. Very underrated. Cheers Steve and God Bless
The whole band was underrated and dismissed by much of the US punk movement. They were the best and were there from the beginning ; and from the US all I ever hear is about Orange County bands or NYC bands or London. They deserve much more recognition. I guess an untimely accident years ago thwarted their attempt to break thru to the big time. RIP Gord!!!
They played with such wild abandon, but they could play. TH deserved a lot more love and attention. I’m 65 and I’m listening to them more now than ever. RIP Frankie, RIP Gordie.
When you see them in a small basement bar in Oakville, Ontario at 10pm in the middle of August with only one exit and no ventilation standing in front of the speakers, after drinking about 4 beers, smoking a joint and doing a gram of 'shrooms, that's probably as good as it gets.
@@TheStuble I was in that basement bar in Oakville at 10 PM in August lamenting Gordie's multi-string leads on that lovely Gibson. Shrooms may have heightened it... Nah. This song and 'Top Down' with an encore of 'Disgusteen' the chicks went wild! Good times.
Best band in the world 🌍 my band covers this song and Lucy Potatoe . I feel lucky as hell even to know about this band, thanks to the older dudes I grew up with that schooled me as a youngster
From Hamilton, another fine example of Northern Rock 🇨🇦. Best to Steve & Nick, whose playing I both loved. And RIP to Frankie & Gordie, for giving my youth some cheer!
I was the soundman for the Head and I carried all that crap up and down 3 and 1/2 flights of stairs at the Coronet Motor inn. Great times with the best family. 1982/83 I remember being told about the bagpipes................
Coronet Motor Inn used flunkies from the local jail to haul the equipment up and down. I only carried light stuff. But you understand this video is from the Coronet theater on Yonge st., in Toronto. Easy load in and out.
I have an active torrent with all the albums. I know it is on Pirate Bay for sure. Can't remember where else I posed it. But it gets regular downloads from all corners of the earth.
Thanks so much for sharing this. Omg the Coronet, that brings back memories! Didn't love the reggae influence on this take and personally I think they do this tune better now.
Ooh yeah I have so much love for TH from Frankie rushing to my stage absolutely in misbeileve this chick did his bands songs like she was born on a stage while they were playing. I guess it cemented a lifelong friendship.
Saw them in my grade 9 year, 1979. was Sept or October at Park St. Collegiate in Orillia Ont. First live band I really ever saw! Love these guys! Loved the punk rock scene then!!!
Frankie's loaded. Always the song they closed shows with. A drunken crowd would be whipped into a frothing frenzy at this point. People would be going nuts.
Did an internship in '81 for them straight out of Art College. The office/fan club had new music playing constantly and a beehive of creativity. Saw the band so many times. Too bad you never heard them play live cause they were fucking loud! Cheers.
@@talisbriedis If you ever have the time to upload that would be phenomenal! I have Greg as a friend on FB so I will message about how to obtain a copy. There's also a couple of songs from a Bancroft show on RU-vid. Ever seen them or know anything about that concert? And thanks for the reply :)
