So after we watched the OG 90s Trilogy my son and others have recommended I took a look at the Remakes produced by Michael Bay! This is 2014s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Spawned from a lab experiment gone awry, teenage terrapins Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello and Raphael live in the sewers beneath New York. Although their rodent sensei, Splinter, advises against showing themselves above ground, the justice-loving, pizza-eating brothers can't stand idly by while evil Shredder and his minions terrorize the city. With help from intrepid reporter April O'Neil (Megan Fox) and her cameraman (Will Arnett), the Turtles set out to save New York. I thought this was an awesome remake I actually liked the different tone these were from the 90s allowing for emotional things and even Action packed slow mo

Fun Fact: They had the actual actors for the turtles on set. They used Motion Capture Suits for the CGI. Leonardo was actually voice by someone else and not his suit actor in the first movie; however, they had his suit actor voice him in the second one as well. The suit/voice actors for the other turtles stayed the same, meanwhile, Splinter was like Leo, had someone else voice him while another person was the suit actor, then had the suit actor voice the character in the second film Another Fun Fact: Splinter's Suit/Voice Actor is Danny Woodburn, same guy who played as the elf in Santa Buddies

Jackass' Johnny Knoxville voiced Leo here, despite Pete Ploszek not only portraying him through mocap, but also taking over the vocal duties for Out of the Shadows.

"And we were gonna use rabbits". Actually thats a reference to another comic book series called Usagi Yojimbo. He's basically if Samurai Jack was a Rabbit. He had crossovers w the TMNT in the past.

I actually kinda like versions of TMNT where they aren't trying to be heroes. They're just regular people trying to survive. They have to hide in order to do that. But their appearances and their abilities unfortunately do force them to end up in situations where they have to protect innocent people. They always dream on one day the world will accept them and they can come out from underground and be part of the world they love.

I actually disagree. This movie felt more like April's movie. And the tone was trying hard to be like Dark Knight. The sequel not only focused more on the Turtles, but the lighter tone felt more like TMNT.

To be honest, Michael Bay had NOTHING to do with this movie. While Bay DID do the sequel, it was Jonathan Liebesman directed the movie. The pair are considered Bay's work because he PRODUCED both movies.
