They need to reissue harder ones. Metal Mutants, Scratch the cat, Hot spot, Sandstorm, Mona lisa. Warriors of the forgotten sewer. Hopefully the molds are still around. The Mutations are at Target They could have repainted genhis frog into the other 2. Atilla & rasputin. Maybe they will this time around. That Be cool.
@@ursupremetoys6230 Hopefully sooner then later.Even playmates knows how rare scratch & Hotspot are. & some of those others. I am surprised they are reissuing mutations.
The truth is that it is very disappointing to see how playmates lower costs in their reissues, when they put rubber and then pvc they realize the cheaper quality, but when they arrive in Argentina I'm going to buy them, I hope they take out all the characters surrender, regards 👋🏻🇦🇷
Quite touchy narration. First time in almost thirty years I see these. These are quite nice. I think Genghis and Napoleon were the only punk frogs that ever got released. Ironhide with a southern cowboy accent quoting Oh Wingnuts!
Yep, the other two frogs never saw the light of day. I wonder what kind of toads they would have been. I tried baxters weapon in both hands during filming. It was very tight in his right hand, so I just stuck it in his left.
@thespaceram2879: Looking back on the original action figure line (1988-1996), it is pretty strange Attilia and Rasputin never got action figures. I would have certainly bought them if Playmates made them. That said, NECA did release a four pack of all four Punk Frogs in the last few years that looked amazing and are spot on to their cartoon appearance.
I used to buy vintage TMNT but stopped 6mths ago, the prices of vintage TMNT will tank for all the reissued figures. The same thing happend with Star Wars and He-Man Origins.
I have not seen that. Usually the resurgence causes prices to increase with vintage pieces, especially MOC and MIB samples. Vintage Star wars has been at an all time high, and is why even with constant Reissues and customs flooding the market, I have still been unable to complete my vintage set even after a decade. I love Reissues, but as my reviews point out, with comparisons, they just aren't the same.
@@ursupremetoys6230 Most of my vintage stuff is MOTU and thats taken a massive drop in price since the pandemic ended and Origins was released. If its a rare / uncommon figure your ok, but all the core characters took a 40% price hit :(
Really! I haven't kept up with vintage motu in some time. Maybe I should look into recollecting. I have everything from classics, and even with origins and masterverse flooding the market those prices have continued to rise.
How come you do not cut around the bobble plastic? I still do it to my carded toys to keep the art in the front or even to put them back in packaging. Someone stole all my carded packaging and my brothers would cut my stuff... it was a bummer! I love all the artwork in it!
I did that for decades. After a while I ended up with boxes and boxes of cardbacks and folded up boxes. I love the art. But I simply can't afford the room anymore. I've thrown everything away from the past few years.
They haven't released them individually, but you can get a box set with all 4 from target. I didn't like the glittery look of the vintage ones when I was a kid. www.target.com/p/teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles-4pk-cartoon-action-figures/-/A-86455802
Ok can anyone answer this, why didn’t playmates release the other 3 frogs in the toy line…we have e Napoleon bonafrog figure who’s a bullfrog is he the actual original Napoleon bona frog from the cartoons?
Napoleon is one of the 4 punk frogs. The studios contracted to sculpt and design a lot of the characters and figures were given a ton of creative freedom. Varner Studios is probably the most prominent. But Anaglyph sculpture worked on quite a few of the early TMNT figures as well. I assume they just never got around to the other 2 punk frogs cause they were 'swamped' with work. 🥁
Awesome review I’m still on that hunt for the Baxter and Genius figures and I’m always on the hunt for another foot soldier cause you could never have too many of those.
I'm not sure, it doesn't seem like playmates is really trying to hype these Reissues up in any way. I've just happened to either find out about them in store, or stumble upon other videos of people who have found them early.
I wish and really hope they would keep going with these rereleases and eventually rerelease the more obscure characters. Imagine if Scratch, Hotspot, and other rate figures get rereleased.
I can’t find April wing nut mondo or leather head or backster my Walmart ain’t carrying them there just stocking all the og turtles I don’t know why I’m In Canada my aunt found two foot soldiers at toys r us
I just bought Baxter stockman! His teeth are painted blue like his face and I bought wingnut!I'm waiting on Ray fillet he was my favorite as a child! I loved how he could change colors
Blue teeth Baxter! Nice. The Ray Filet variants were color change, and the original release wasn't. I never had the color change version. And for anyone interested, here is an awesome article on just that. www.toynerds.com.au/2020/08/17/ninja-turtle-training-2/
i had wing nut as a kid and i never liked it because my figures wings never stayed attached, i could not get them to work, he would not stand… it was just incredible annoying so i could never enjoy the figure
If your talking about the reissues (Not vintage) id decard them and enjoy them how you want them. Reissues are unlikely to be worth a fortune MOC as they are so mass produced, think TY Beanie Babies and Star Wars Episode 1/ Power Of The Force line ... old and worthless despite MOC
@@SecretOfMonkeyIsland784 I think it's more of how nice and nostalgic they are in the packaging. But I agree with you. Open them and enjoy them. I've opened actual vintage figures that weren't valuable on numerous occasions. Especially when the bubbles start turning yellow.
In the video games, Wingnut is a bad guy who helps Shredder and the Foot Clan. Weird he's good here and odd that Rat King in bad in reality he was on his own and didn't love Shredder or the Turtles
Yeah, they did that with quite a few characters between media. Leatherhead and Slash come to mind as well. Eastman and Laird were very relaxed with their business partners.
Yep, the toy bios had them more associated with the foot, but the Archie comics eventually saw them join the Mighty Mutanimals. It was really all over the place and that was fun.
