Teenage Wrist is addicting and nostalgic. Takes me back to a little while ago when I went to nyc and when I left, I looked over the bridge with such sadness at the Manhattan skyline because I just love that city so damn and hate leaving it every time. This song brings that back.
eat my ass I feel you. Rap and poppy/techno music dominates the mainstream like it mostly has in any decade but maybe it’s a good thing they’re not over the top with fame? They’re an amazing gem and as much as I’d love to see them succeed, I’d also hate for people who diss this type of music to jump on the alternative band wagon because it’s in the mainstream you know? Pros and cons. Hope they do get bigger though. True talent here.
[Verse 1] Lay your head down on me I believe we made it out Bury your head in my heart now When it's too loud Take another ride and hold it in Chemicals rise and grace your skin Bury your head in my heart now And take me down We are hardly sober Young, light, and over feeling low When your heart is so hard And you are all alone [Chorus] All I need now Is the light from the afterglow All I see now Is the smoke from the aftershow All I need now Is the light from the afterglow All I see now It's all I see, you're all I need [Verse 2] Lay your head down on me I can see there's something else Open your heavy eyes I will lead you underground Take another dive and watch me die A blooming love, a beautiful lie Bury your head in my heart now [Chorus] All I need now Is the light from the afterglow All I see now Is the smoke from the aftershow All I need now Is the light from the afterglow All I see now It's all I see, you're all I need here on 5/26/2022
When your ex you've been missing like you're going to die comes back and you hang and suddenly you both know it's on - this song kicks in like a movie soundtrack and you both melt into a kiss that turns into the best sex ever: that's Afterglow!
Their sound reminds me a lot of Catherine Wheel, an extremely underrated 90s grunge band (which was much better than many of the "famous" grunge bands, IMO).
The "All I see" is the exact same notes and syncopation and the lyrics are very similar. The song is in the same key and starts off on the same chord and drum beat.
If you like this tune, check out Catherine Wheel's album Chrome. Shades of The Nude here. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-91IaGFdAFgI.html
Quentin Powers The only similarities between the two songs is the name and the singer's voice. Both just a coincidence. Neither copied the other. Thanks for introducing me to that song though, it's also pretty damn good!
I think the guitars are too loud and distorted, especially during the verses. Drums are also too loud (or just being hit too hard). Not only that but it's a really simple/generic melody... I like Chain Gang but this sounds uninspired and poorly produced.
