Ringo: "I was goin' anyway..." (to see George). Good on Ringo!

So fun watching your reactions! Love your enthusiasm! I think I missed your reaction to the McCartney album - great album.

What a productive few weeks. All of "Let It Be", most of "Abbey Road" plus a bunch of future solo songs. Eventually we will see Ringo with George's help working on "Octopus's Garden" and George with John's help working on "Something". Plus off-screen George writes "Here Comes The Sun" and "Wah-wah" during his brief absence.

As annoying as he may be, without Micheal Lindsey Hogg, none of this footage would exist.

They grew up, bought houses, got married. had kids, and got to slow down and hang out with their families. As John said, quoting the old song title, "Those Wedding Bells are Breaking Up that Old Gang of Mine".

Very cool to see a teens reaction to this. Especially one who IMO got it spot on. Take it from a major Beatles fan raised on this as well as a pro musician.

Ringo left the Beatles because Paul played drums on recoding. George left the band because Paul told him not to play. John left tired of limits & disrespect of Paul & George. Paul announced he quit to promote his solo album. Yoko never was in the band and had no control over it.

Glen Johns and George Martin mixed the single: "Get Back / Don't Let Me Down" early in 1969. Glen finished the rest of the album, but it was rejected and shelved. New manager Allen Kline brought in Phil Spector to work his 'magic'. The album release was timed to coincide with the movie release in 1970.

Not much to note for this episode. Towards the end of the reaction you mention that something must happen in a few weeks to cause the Beatles to scrap the making of the album. If you remember, Ringo had to start shooting the movie in February that year, so they had to be done with their project by then. While Ringo was filming the movie, the other boys all took breaks to work on other projects until after the movie was finished filming. During that time they gave the job of creating the Get Back album to Glynn Johns and basically left it in his hands. Then they got back together to start working on Abbey Road when Ringo was done with the movie. What I love most about this episode is that we see John take leadership of the band again, and we see how well the band works when John is involved and leading. The conversation Paul and John really helped because Paul made it clear to him that the Beatles needed him to be the leader and that he (Paul) wasn't best at it. I just love how open Paul and John are in their communication with each other. It shows how intimate their friendship was.

Said it before n I'll say it again, get back is terrible n waste of time, it's just the same scenes over n over n over agen for hours, the vibe n everything that went on was accurately captured on the 90 min-ish 'let it be' movie, this was nothing but a cash grab
