What would you do when you think no one is watching? What Would You Do? (WWYD?) explores the varying answers with the help of hidden cameras capturing individuals who have been placed within seemingly everyday situation that quickly go ary. The individuals on this hidden camera show are forced to make tough calls when directly faced with situations of racism, violence, hate crimes, and other hot button cultural issues. Catch John Quinones reporting on these individuals as they make split-second decisions to intervene or mind their own business. WWYD? airs Friday nights at 9|8c on ABC.
What Would You Do? (WWYD) is a hidden camera show, hosted by ABC News correspondent John Quinones, in which unknowing bystanders are placed in uncomfortable, and often compromising real world scenarios in public. WWYD’s hidden cameras focus on the average person’s responses and reactions to these issues of social responsibility. Topics such as gay couples being affectionate in public, date rape, racism and racial profiling, interracial couples, abusive parents, drunk driving, and harassment of the homeless are touched upon in this series. What will you do? Would you choose to intervene in these situations? Watch and join the discussion.

It's usually the fear of confrontation and causing a scene in public, which would attract too much attention to oneself, thus, "disturbing the peace and harmony" (the worst nightmare of those with social anxiety). Once SOMEONE finally speaks up, everyone else is then given the signal that it's appropriate to stand up to the mean people and speak their minds. Human psychology is fascinating.

I once unthinkingly said to my husband (and I was immediately ashamed of myself) "I might be on this show, but you wouldn't," because of his social anxiety. He won't even ask a store clerk for help. I have my own anxieties, but no social ones, I would definitely speak up in a situation like this one. It was very wrong of me to say that to him, and I immediately apologized. He understood what I meant though, and forgave me. I still haven't forgiven myself. He's a good, sweet man, and I realize every day how blessed I am to have him in my life.

I watch these videos and like many i ball my eyes out. At 63 years of age, and my life experience, this year is my 40th year as a Paramedic, it breaks my heart to have seen first hand the cruelty of human beings. All of these videos bring extreme emotion to me. I live now with the consequences of many people who, unlike a lot of people in these videos. do NOT help their fellow human being at time of need. My tears are from feeling thankful to witness that their are very very kind hearted people out there that unlike the filthy rich who cause so much of our strife and life's challenges for the sake of their own pockets, actually care about others and step up to the plate even though many can't really afford to, but they do because, "IT IS THE RIGHT THING TO DO!" Thank you to each and everyone of you who do this and a huge thank you to the show for awakening and reminding everyone what it means to be a kind and caring human being.

I have respect for the homeless population and I never judge anyone's situation. I lost my job and I was walking to the store to get a snack and I said hello to a homeless guy and the debit card machine was down. The store clerk told me to come back in 10 minutes and I decided to wait. I came outside to talk to the guy while waiting. I told him my story and he told me I was the only person who talked to him like he was a person and he offered to buy me breakfast with his last $20. I was moved to tears. I told him it was ok. I had a prepaid debit card with about $2 left on it and if I had more I definitely would have bought him breakfast. I gave him my number but I haven't heard from him since.

+Christina “Le Diva” Polk thank you! My mom taught me never to judge anyone and especially after losing my job and not being able to buy food, I learned that homeless people go through a lot. I enjoyed talking to him. We talked for about an hour about politics, religion, jobs, etc. I found out so much about him. It changed my entire perspective about people in general. I hope I see him again. I finally got my unemployment and I'd love to take him to breakfast.

as a teenage girl with two siblings & a mom we spent about 4 years in a homeless shelter because we weren’t fortunate like other people and couldn’t afford any place to live and we didn’t have a car, from having to walk everywhere and stay outside during the cold , the heat , snow , rain , and having to sleep on thin little cots and having to make sure my mom who was pregnant the first time we went there was good & make sure my sister was fine , regardless if this was an act or not it makes me really sad watching this because there are actually people in this world who act like that towards people who struggle and it makes me remember all the times people would make fun of me because of my family’s struggles . it is not okay at all , you never ever judge people for what they struggle with & what they don’t have & how less fortunate they are compared to you .

This hits home because I was that person 2 in a half years ago and I was treated like this and worse. People judged me before they ever knew my story or knew me and they treated me like I was worse scum on their shoes. You never know someone's story how they got where they are. You'd be surprised to know that alot of people think homeless people are a bunch of drug addicts that got themselves homeless but everyone's story is different how they got there and different horrible stuff happened to them to get them where they are, each of them have been thru some serious trauma, some choose to numb that pain with drugs and others chooseto numb the pain in healthier ways. Never Judge a book by its cover that's a true statement. We all only want to be treated like a human bean. No one wants to be treated like this, no one wants to feel unworthy. Everyone is worth everything we've gotta reach out to people not break each other down. This seriously got to me big time, I know this pain all to well, I've lived it for years and years and felt so unloved, unwanted, unworthy, like no one would care if I lived or died. The way I would get liked at and treated like everywhere and everytime I went anywhere was enough for me to hide away from the world. It hurt me deeply the way people would treat us. I could tell you many horror stories about this subject that were done to me over the years. Maybe sometime I'll share my story on my you tube channel. I'll pray about it and see, I would love to be able to share it and help someone else. If you're in need of a friend please reach out to me. I know what it's like to go thru this and I feel deeply for people like this.

I hope that you're doing well now!This reminded me of the stories I heard from my Grandfather when his family had to flee his home country when he was 5 (Back in the 40s), because of an ethnic genocide! My great grandparents had to leave behind everything, their home, farmlands, money, and other materialistic things. Their journey was really dangerous, and they had nothing when his family arrived here! My great grandparents had to do every job possible, including those they might had never imagined about doing in their home country, just to feed their 8 children. I'm proud that they turned things around things, and became successful here after working really hard... So, I was actually sobbing for that actor... Nobody knows what somebody else is going through. There's a possibility that the "Homeless guy" is going through something terrible we can't even imagine! That's exactly the point! I hope that you're doing well now

I was homeless for a short time due to drug use. I'm glad I wasn't in a big city or in today's times. Sure, there are some very bad homeless, but most are good. May have drug issues, mental issues or down on there luck. They don't need to be harassed, just loved. Even if you don't have a dime to give, at least treat them human

I hope that you're doing well now! That's exactly the point! This reminded me of the stories I heard from my Grandfather when his family had to flee his home country when he was 5 (Back in the 40s), because of an ethnic genocide! My great grandparents had to leave behind everything, their home, farmlands, money, and other materialistic things. Their journey was really dangerous, and they had nothing when his family arrived here! My great grandparents had to do every job possible, including those they might had never imagined about doing in their home country, just to feed their 8 children. I'm proud that they turned things around things, and became successful here after working really hard... So, I was actually sobbing for that actor... Nobody knows what somebody else is going through. There's a possibility that the "Homeless guy" is just going through something terrible we can't even imagine! We have to be kind, and take care of each other!
