Lewis, there's a reason it doesn't seem like he's doing much. Yes, the beat and the hypnotic music create the environment, but his power really comes from his songwriting skills plus his relaxed, unconcerned tone when singing. He actually has outstanding songwriting skills not because of the content, but because the way he rhymes words, making his voice flow over the beat in a very particular way which increases the hypnotic, trance-like effect. That's where what you're feeling comes from.
Yes, Tego is a master songwriter as his rhymes are genius and flow is hypnotic, but we also have to give credit to his often substantive lyrical content. For example, Loiza’s beat makes you wanna hit the dance floor, and at the same time the lyrics present a hardened commentary on anti-black racism in Latin America. That being said, most of the time Tego Calderón just wants to make you have a good time with relaxed, but authentically clever and well thought out lyrics. This song was made for us to enjoy ourselves, pa’ gozarlo (and Lewis certainly did!)
They that don’t know who tego Calderon is, don’t know a shit about reggaeton, he is legendary. He is the first reggaeton artist who sang in a concert in USA for all non- Spanish speakers and they liked him a lot and got a contract at a big American record company, he opened the door for all other reggaeton artists.. you need to react more songs of him, like al natural, bandolero, cosa buena, elegante boutique, julito maraña. that is his own style and mix many different genre in his songs thats why he is unique and his songs too.
