Welcome to Tehachapi Live Train Cams Livestreaming Drone!
The TLTC Drone is the DJI Mavic 2 Pro and affectionately called Benji (Benjamin). We fly Benji as often as possible…sometimes just around our Cam 1 site at West Cable, and sometimes in remote areas that are not easily accessible unless we use Benji to get there.
Currently we have a 24/7 livestreaming cam at West Cable and one at the Tehachapi Train Depot Museum. While watching the trains on these cams you can also chat live with the TLTC community.
We are very excited about our upcoming location at the Tehachapi Loop, which should be 24/7 livestreaming by the end of October 2019!
Our livestream cams are a hobby of ours and not for profit. We appreciate all donations for our projects as we plan to provide livestreams throughout the Tehachapi Pass. If you would like to donate, you may do so through a livestream super chat by pressing the $ symbol. We also accept donations via PayPal made to cablerrcam@gmail.com. Or you can partner with us by donating through Patreon at / tltc . All donations are very much appreciated.
Thank you for visiting, don’t forget to click on subscribe!

I would not be surprised if BNSF employees use this footage for their investigations.

Don't know what's been going on there lately. Maybe MOW cut-backs and/or inspection cut-backs.

The Tehachapi Sub is real problem. Too much and too tight curves, single track mainline, that's way too much traffic for that. What the RR had to do would be boring a tunnel under the Tehachapi mountains and say good riddance to that 19th century route. But I guess it's more profitable to run trains at 20 mph on the ground and just accept these accidents do happen every year

Wasn't all that much of a problem in the past when I worked there. Maybe SP and ATSF were a little better at running things than the two mega-corporations that are running it now. As for the tunnel - bad idea. If you want to know why, look-up 1952 Arvin-Tehachapi Earthquake and see what happened to the existing tunnels back then between Bealville and Cliff.

@@oldspguy4786 I have looked it up, that was bad one, pretty much damage and yes, I understand, California is prone to earthquakes. Maybe it's not a good idea to build a 30 miles long tunnel under the whole mountain ridge, but a number of shorter tunnels of about a mile or so to get a track with less curves. I mean, look at Japan, they have earthquakes all the way and they do have tunnels 30 miles long. I don't think, it's impossible. Expensive? - definitely and risky? - as well. But feasible - yes. Anyway, since they have cancelled the California High Speed project, I don't think we will see any of this any time soon. So like you say, better MOW could help for a start
