Tekken 5 was way ahead of its time. It had so much extra content. A story mode per each character, a side story just for Jin like wow. So much nostalgia. Didnt this game allow us to play Tekken 1-3 as well?
The only issue I remember playing Tekken 1-3 on this game was that you couldn't exit to this main menu, so basically you had to turn off the console every time. Shit was annoying.
Before I started streaming Ive seen comments say that Tekken 5 is the best, and it is. After this game, Devil Jins moves started going into a nose dive straight to hell.
Not only I put it on main menu, I put it for character customization & BGM custom. Some transition works well (continues without resetting the music) & some repeat the music to the beginning.
I only played Tekken 5 and 7. When I got my hands into 7 I was quite disappointed, because I imagined it would have similar features to that of 5, which I played as a kid. Devil Within/Tekken Force Mode, full Story Mode to each character, Team battle -- all was absent from T7. Should I ever get my hands on another PS2, I will try finding T5 again. My former one broke.
Each Tekken has been different since the beginning. So expect a different game each time. A video I watched said T7 was the last Tekken but I doubt that.
Surprisingly i can relate to all of this. My first tekken game was tekken 5 and i stopped playing it cause my ps2 broke (specifically the disc reading). After i bought tekken 7 i were very disappointed with the lack of singleplayer content. The only difference between your story and my story is i also played tekken tag tournament 2 and had a lot of fun.
I love it how original tekken 5 soundtrack was so influenced by progressive trance era. I still cannot belive this chillout menu music didn't make it on this years vinyl issue. The guy who selected the tracks obviously wasn't into it. Most likely prefered the nu metal mixed with violin and piano kind of songs from dark resurrection. Well...
Thanks for posting this extended version. I remember vibing to this when I was a kid. Banger tracks in Tekken are awesome but their chill beats are the most special to me.
I remember spending way more than I should on this menu when I was a kid, picturing how the vibes of the public were while they were on this rave party awaiting for the first fight to be broadcasted on the screens.

I love whatever kind of music this is. It’s ominous but in the best way possible. I think it’s a damn shame what they’ve done to the Tekken main music themes. Those themes are never bad themselves, but I personally feel they don’t always make great menu music. Someday I will learn to mod and remake the layouts of Tekken 4 and 5 for Tekken 8.
Im wondering if the other video was just a image with sound?, cause you have to keep moving the directional buttons or itll go to a cinema scene if you dont. I looked it up myself before and got a low quality faded video.
Tekken 5 was my childhood 🤩🤩🤩😍 but I don't remember the menu them at all ngl . Still need to compete the devil within mode , probably haven't touched that since 2009 or 10
Omg i remember playing this game with my cousin and after all these years i couldn’t find the game since I’m not familiar with this series I’m just glad i found it brings up so many memories 🥺
I remember once the menu somehow glitched and all the letters were extremely big and they didn't even fit their positions. I saw this only once, and after the game went into attract mode and I pressed start the glitch was fixed.
The only one Im scared of losing to in Tekken History is Jinpachi. I cant beat him without only using the jump kick. Then he has that Garlic Jr. belly blast from Dragonball Z.

Is that Karate techniques? I use like 12 (#?) different hand stretches. Its not so much the game, its working & working out plus gaming that causes the pain to be worst than usual. If I was a bum it wouldnt be a much of a problem.
