Tekken without walls would be the best fighting game ever juggles are cool but I hate being in the air so long I can walk to the kitchen and make a sandwich come back and still be in the air Feels like im actually watching these combo vids
I agree with bando walls are just a part of the game some stage have walls some don't some characters are stronger on stages with walls some aren't in ttt2 there are ways to turn a character into a wall to do special combo's Tekken is just a learning game like any other fighting game and there's ways to get out of getting wall combo'ed just side step away from a wall so your back is not against it and be more defensive this force you opponents to try to create and opening by mixing you up with low attacks or throws but there's always a way out you just gotta find it practice and patience is key
Holly shit man.. You make Raven look soo damn sweet!! I like Raven but when it comes to juggles, their a bit of a challenge :P I usually use Lili, Nina, Hwoarang and Kazuya.. I must favourite your video and start practicing some of your combos :D Thanks ;)
exactly! i play too many fighting games to remember all the names for all the moves, but those are it, and once mastered raven becomes WAY more powerful then people give him credit for
Zafina makes u sharpen ur defense and raven makes u sharpen your reflexes with his counters and yoshi makes u sharpen ur mind game. And the bears make u learn to be patient
I gotta hand it to you, that was awesome I plan to try a few combos for Raven, hopefully you'd be entertained I loved that Haze 2 UB floor break, i hope you dont mind me trying something like that. Liked and favoured, very useful video.
Raven's greatest feature is his smash counters. Smash counters are a combination of his smash moves that are effectively timed to counter opponents. The smash moves are moves that (are usually quick and have a small attack radius, usually used to initiate, connect, or end combos) deal more damage than his normal moves (symbolized with a purple circle) (e.g.: Raven's famous flying knee). When timed into a counter (and in rage), it produces devastating results. Exploit your character's talents!
@CaribbeanZeldaFan Most of those combos are actually not as long as they seem, you just have to know how to escape them, like rolling to the side or quick rolling, etc. or even sometimes just by laying still on the ground and wait for the right moment =)
@CaribbeanZeldaFan You can go to tekkenzaibatsu.... Its Tekken is about setups mind games and patience. You have to know when to tech-roll or how to get up, thats where the mix-ups come in at.
you're talking about haze + left (not too sure though but i think it's right) punch, haze + diagonal downward kick and his alter ego, which is haze + left and right kick immediately after haze.
Thanks I play with Raven exclusively and I think he's one of the best players in the game when used correctly... I defeated so called Master, Warriors, Berserkers and other good players using him!! Black Ninja Foreva!!
Hey, i love this. it's so rare to find raven users online. only thing i want to say, though i don't use combos like these. i do win a lot with raven. mainly with his ninjutsu techniques which are VASTLY underestimated. people who tell me raven sucks usually don't know what they are missing, my idea about raven being "slightly" disadvantaged against other characters is DUE to his shadow skills. "example phasing, quick teleports" he's got a ton of feints also so make sure to use them ^_^
@find1ngN3mo your right zafin is annoyin because 1. She has that quik long range low and she doesn't have any freeze time on incomplete combos so there is low chance of attack crushing
I don't see the point in making a Raven combo video. The reason why you all are having so much trouble understanding Raven is because Raven's true damage comes from his counters. This video displays what would seem like two top notch Raven players showing off a whole lot of different moves with Raven, and even less if you actually play as Raven. The problem is, if you notice the heath bar, they are doing a whole bunch of fancy complicated and complex moves, but not alot of damage. There is no point to try to figure out Raven in that sense; Eddy and Christie's best characteristic isn't their hard to follow combo string, but their ability to stay out of the way of their opponent's attacks while still attacking. They are the closest to how to play as Raven but the difference is, almost ALL of Raven's moves allow him perfect maneuverability to counter which as we all know does additional damage and all his counter moves are his hard hits; so thats hardhit+counter damage. Timing is key, even more so for Raven, if you master Raven's timing like I have, all your counters will be clean hits, which deal even more damage; so thats hardhit+counter+cleanhit damage. That right there is what Raven is all about; hardhit+counter+cleanhit+rage(+"charge" if your lucky) is absolutely DEVASTATING, which can all be done in ONE MOVE.
@CaribbeanZeldaFan i know this is like 2 weeks later..but if ur still trying to play it yes you have to kind of work at it..the website this guys referring to for you to learn..you would probably find it boring and leave since its for the hardcore tekken fans..if ur just playing casually with ppl then you should pick a character you like and look at combo videos of them learn the moves used and then when u get the hang of it create ur own combos..only takes about 30 minutes to get a combo down
away 2 (timed on attack connect) those counters are hard to master, but he's got 3 of them, 1 + 2 (vanish and unblockable drop from air) away 2 (vanish and blind ghost kick), and Down 1 + 2 ( Split ghosts *VERY funny as it confuses everyone*) all have to be timed on recieved impact, so practice to get them to be useful.
Not that I would say he's the worst but in Tekken 5 it's a bit hopeless, I admit I'm kind of having a hard time playing as Raven, but since I'm fanned of playing ninja characters, I was still interested of learning how to use Raven, until Tekken 6 has finally come Raven has his new great moves which was a very big help to come up with new combos.
that was such a awesome video, i use raven i dont think his a bad character at all, ive alway's used raven in tekken 5 and tekken 6, he was the best ninja for the job, i really like when he say's ill see u in hell, or somthing like that he say's other thing's two but i can't remember everything he say's his just awesome raven and thanks for awesome video.
@CaribbeanZeldaFan i feel your pain but I love tekken. here is my take on it. when people get you in the air and juggle its like getting hit with a big hay maker and what you have to do, is defend yourself from them just like any fight. seriously, think about it, the characters in tekken can take alot of hay makers to the face in the game and not be knocked out, so what can substitute the effects of a real life hay makers for the characters in tekken, a good juggle.
When I hear people say that "This character is the worst'" or "This character is top tier" I t always makes me laugh. It's like the same arguments in the real martial arts world (which I'm a part of) where some people boast that theirs is superior. Look, it ALWAYS depends on the player! I've played over 400 matches and I have a 70.5 ratio which I think is pretty good myself. I Like Raven because he's different and I couldn't care less that people think he's not that good.
@darkoni369 oooo nice, man i just started to play this game with controller and i am getting palsy soon, every time i do the haze i accidentally do a kicks combo, and many other things like that with many characters.
yo darkoni this is the best raven vid iv seen and it still is even at this point... but as a raven fighter i find myself in situations werby i lose alot i guest its cos raven is not a very good character but one of the best to me... iv been usin raven close to a year now but i find bruce a three months char better then raven, how do i cange this cos i want my raven to b my onli best and the rest follow.
Wait... did people really think Raven is the worst character in the game? What bullshit. He doesn't really have any long combo's but he does tons of damage. I really like his moves too.
how do u connect the f, f+3 kick like that after the bound in some combos in this vid? I want to know since I plan on mastering raven cause he's badass IMO.....
Nice combos, not too many REAL Raven players out there. I'm one,got a friend in Texas thats one, and I can see you guys are too. When you play Raven you gotta be great to shut the nay sayers up. Gotta try out the combos from vermillion. Quote the raven...nevermore.
No offence, but for all you Raven players, don't look at this as a catalog for you to pick certain combos out of to use in an actual match. This video is really helpful for understanding how Raven's moves link together. But what I find with 95% of these combos, are that they are unnecessarily complex and don't deal effective damage. Raven's greatest abilities are that the majority of his moves are smash counters which when timed right deal insane damage. They are extremely simple and deadly.
@darkoni369 Kazuya is more easily played out and there aren't that many Zafina players. Not on Xbox, at least. For me, Kazuya is the most easy to fight when I use Raven, Jin, Lili, Asuka, "Veganov", Miguel, Julia, Anna, Nina, Heihachi, Steve, Alisa, and Lee.
I use Raven allot, I first played with Lili but i wanted some challenge. Raven isn't the worst. But he is kinda slow in hitting his opponent. He does a whole move before hitting. But his defo not the worst. You have to learn him. -DT-
IMO raven is the easiest to learn the combos. But some of the combos ive seen on ps3 videos cant be done on the psp. ( i think. Clarify me if im wrong)
... You know this is just a Combo vid, right? Ease off the Hatorade fam... Sheeesh. The funny thing about it is that I feel the same way you do but I wrote it in the TZ Raven forums where they belong. Btw, I've done about 80% of this stuff in actual matches (casuals/tournaments/etc), so it is possible to pull this stuff off in actual game play. Me and DS360 are just trying to maximize Raven's possibilities if that's ok with you. Like it or not, THIS is the new standard.
@ SWBeta: I had 2 work bro... I gotta have my money right if I'm gonna go to Evo :-) Raven is definitely the worst but I found out that he actually is a bad match-up for certain characters in certain situations. @ Ekie: I was a little on the defensive b4 cuz I get random hate from out the blue. No worries, everyone is entitled to their own opinion and all I'm tryin' to do is add to the Raven community.
dont see why many ppl think raven is one of the worse characters to me no character in a fighting game is "the worse" it all matters how you use the person...and another thing tiers are for quiers they dont mean nothin
I gotta get in on some sessions so I can continue to get more solid. Btw, I have some combo's that would put me at all-time godlike status but I like where I'm at for now. Don't sleep, cuz when/if I do it the title will belong to me bwahahahahahaaaa!!!
Wasn't hatin. I'm sure your a good Raven. Just Letting the newer Raven players know what's most important befor they fall in love with trying to pull off 104 damage combos
@JrEM2514 Well bruce is top tier, I think he is the second or third best character in the game. Koreans actually think raven is the worst. He not bad but you have to work hard for your win with raven
I am 9 years late, but it does 3 things: 1.: It gives your next attack Counter Hit properties at the expense of your block, just like kicharge. 2.: Gives access to one of his unblockable moves on startup. 3.: Has a built-in vanish if you time it with an attack.
